The P4010DCS-WCA is a 10-year, sealed battery smoke alarm that features wireless interconnect capability and enhanced intelligibility for users. The voice warning feature accompanies the 85dB tone during an alarm event, and helps reduce confusion with verbal announcements such as "Replace Alarm" at end of alarm life, and "Hush mode activated" when a nuisance alarm is silenced. The three color LED ring helps users quickly determine standby, alarm, or error mode of the alarm.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute nightmare I have five of these in my house. I've had them for two years. They've been an absolute nightmare. They worked fine for a while, but in recent months they continue to have constant connection issues, and when they do they chirp and speak loudly, at all hours of the day and night. Every few nights I have to get up and attempt to reset the wireless connection for one of them in the middle of the night. It scares the kids. I never know which one will be next to have a problem. One of them now will no longer connect at all, and so won't stop making periodic nuisance noises. These would be great if they worked, but they don't. I tried writing Kidde a few weeks ago but haven't had a response. I would steer clear of these products.

I tried to hush it and it said "too much smoke, alarm can't be hushed". Kept going all night! Had to permanently disable the alarm as only option to turn it off because the batteries are not removable! Terrible experience.

First would be a flashing light then if that was ignored got a female voice warning us they weren't communicating with each other. A lot of nuisance value.

Long press starts pairing. There is no simple way to stop pairing. Had to search the internet for detailed instructions. Does Kidde tried to use their product themselves? I hope this alarm will acrually work in case of smoke or fire.

I’ve just kept them as regular smoke detectors. Save the money and buy regular units- tried tirelessly to get these things to connect. They do not work as advertised.

The only way to get them to stop is to permanently disable them with a switch that then renders them completely useless. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing these.

Can a hardwired one be connected with a battery operated one

Yes but they both have to be compatible with each other. The hard wired one should be a P4010ACS-WCA or similar. For the battery one it should be a P4010DCS-WCA or similar. The last 3 letters always have to be WCA for any similar ones. The 6th last letter is A for hard wired and D for battery
