Rated 4 out of 5 by Bongoa from Acorn Acorn Acorn Replicates the ceramic grills up to 700F, though 600F is plenty, will handle 90% of the ceramics which cost 3 times.. cast grates are nice quality and fuel consumption is very effective.. I also have a Weber Smokey mountain 18.5" which I use for low and slow cooks, this Acorn is my high temp cooks.. The Weber WSM takes a lot charcoal, a 7-9 hr cook will consume most of the charcoal in the basket maintaining 225-250F, in the Acorn for a 3 hr cook at 350F-400F, it barely use any fuel at all.. mayby 1/8 of the charcoal.. it's that efficient.. there is definitely a learning curve.. either unit you will need a 8Maverick ET-733, the dome thermometer is worthless.. it's usually 80-100 degrees off.... 4 stars due to thermometer and rubber upper unit gasket which can be destroyed if you forgot both vents open after cooks, Char Griller will charge you $20 plus shipping for replacement

Rated 5 out of 5 by RSCK from BEST BBQ I have owned. I have always used a gas BBQ. This year though I would try charcoal. So Got one of those cheap weber style grills and a bag of charcoal. I found it to be so smokey but liked the thought of charcoal over gas though. So went and got this BBQ after hours and days of reading reviews on the internet. This BBQ does not smoke barely at all. Way better than Weber. Food is great tasting and juicy. You can not get a better grill. Also you should get a coal grate for the 22.5" weber and use that instead of the diffuser made for it as gives you the ability to cook closer to the coals if wanted to and you can always use a pizza pan for a diffuser if you choose. Get the cover also Model # 6755 Internet # 204216465. Weber Grate Model # 7441 Internet # 100657906 Store SKU # 102857 With the Akorn and the grate you will be able to grill better than any Big Green Egg. Do not use lighting fluid or gel accelerants. Get a package of Rutland Fire Starters. Come in a box of 144 for like $13.00. Cut the squares into quarters and you have 576 charcoal starters. So like $0.03 a piece. Rated 4 out of 5 by Rscott from Enjoy grilling on the Kamado but can not find replacement parts I purchased the Kamado Grill for a Christmas 2012 gift for my husband. The right handle for the removal ash tray has already broke off. I can not find replacement handles either in store or online.

The model # 16619 has not been discontinued as far as manufacturing, but retailers may or may not keep them in stock.
