Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lovely stove but disappointed! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) A lovely stove that functions well....however, I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the top metal grates on the stove. Literally within a few days of installation, they were scratched up despite there being no shaking or movement of the pans. When I called customer service at KitchenAid, they would do nothing - since it was delivered 30+ days prior....they did not care that it had only been installed and operational for 3 days. I had to wait for a gas fitter to come and install the gas in my home and install the actual range before it could be used which was the reason that it wasn't installed immediately.....but they didn't care- Too bad / so sad! To me - this is pathetic! This is not a cheap stove, and I expected much better quality for the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2nd control panel failure in 2 yrs - $1000 repair For the second time in 2 years, the control panel on our $3,400 range has failed. KitchenAid will not cover it. Replacing the panel will cost $1,000 out of pocket. The range is out of warranty - we bought Jan 2017, installed Aug 2017. But paying $1,000 every two years to replace a failed control panel on a $3,400 range is completely unacceptable. This will absolutely be the last time Whirlpool gets a dime from us, including their brand family: KitchenAid Maytag JennAir Amana Yummly Gladiator

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got this for replacement for old Jenn-air. I knew it... Got this for replacement for old Jenn-air. I knew it will be tough to install from reading reviews but I didn’t have any choice. Indeed, it was hard. No one quite explained why so I’ll give details from my installation headaches. 1. Vent position: Jenn air right, kitchen aid left so make sure there’s a clearance. My gas line came up from the floor on the left so had to move about 8” to the back. 2. Width is slightly bigger than Jenn air so I had to cut granite countertop 1/4” on both sides, which wasn’t fun. After all the trouble I went through, range works great. Downdraft works better than Jenn air though It cooks slower when you set fan high. It even pull flames. Gas works better(higher BTU) so cooks faster.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Burner temperature regulation is too limited. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the four burners will go to a very low simmer. I often need more. The lowest temperature on the two larger burners is too high.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great features [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this less than a month ago and one of the burners has never worked. Have to wait for a kitchenaid repairman to come to the house to look at it. Scheduled April 6. Other features are great that work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good range [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been very happy with this stove, which we bought last August 2021, and have been using routinely for our meals. The burners take a while to get used to because of the different circumferences, and it might be good to have some guidance on what meals work best on which burner. The guidance for the stove is a little hard to read, and some YouTube videos would help to show how to use the features. We have been delighted roasting, broiling and using the convection feature, seeing how moist different meals have emerged from the oven. There are many features that we have yet to use and will explore over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great range lots of features [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Due to the style of our house (Quonset) and the location of the range in the kitchen we needed to find a range with a downdraft vent system as we could not install anything overhead. KitchenAid was on of the options and was a perfect match for our recently purchased KitchenAid refrigerator. Installation wasn't too difficult although finding 5" ducting and parts for the vent was a challenge as most local home improvement stores only carry 3", 4" and 6". Not sure why KitchenAid opted to make an odd sized vent system and not offer any of the ducting parts online as an option to order with the range. But after waiting a week to find and get the parts (with the range sitting in the middle of the kitchen), we were able to install it. Works perfect and find the oven to bake evenly and the gas cooktop is fantastic. Seems to be well constructed and quality throughout so we hope to have this appliance for many years.

I am replacing a 26+ year-old dual-fuel, downdraft Jenn-Air. Wondering if the exhaust opening on the range surface is above the level of the gas burners or does the exhaust fan pull the flames/heat away from the pan as it did in the Jenn-Air?

Hello Judy, the downdraft is on the same level as the burners and is designed to pull the smoke away from the food when cooking. We hope this helps.

How long is there a smell from oven when first turned on?

How long is there a smell from oven when first turned on?
Asked by: Angie
Hello Angie, there is no specific time frame. We generally recommend to set the oven to high heat, between 400 to 550 degrees Fahrenheit (204 to 288 degrees Celsius). Let the oven run at this temperature for between 30 minutes and an hour. If the smell persists after the cycle, repeat the process once or twice more. Once you no longer smell oil or a burning odor, allow the oven to fully cool and use a warm, soapy wash cloth to wipe down the inside of the oven a final time.
