Rated 1 out of 5 by from They lie - Terrible customer service This is the third time I am writing and will get another generic response just like others to reply to customer care or Facebook. Kitchenaid your company lies, no replies or follow up. Why send these responses when you do not follow through or even acknowledge the customer. No reason to tell customers to email or send messages when you ignore them and never reply. I have sent 5 emails and 3 fb messages over 4 years and still not one response. I imagine so I would give up or my warranty is up. Either way terrible customer service. Both reviews on this site have received responses that lead to absolutely nothing. Very very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing double oven, do not recommend. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I’m not happy with my new double oven. The double oven I had for eleven years previously was superior. No notches on the burner controls so impossible to find the right heat and use it again in the future. Instead of the light indicating which burner is hot, it’s a hot cooktop light so unless you’re the one cooking or have a pot on the stove, you have no idea which burner to avoid. The oven racks do not clear the doors, so if you don’t want chips taken out of your doors, you need to pull them out slowly and angle them up. Hard to believe, there wouldn’t be improvements in eleven years time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a Fan of this oven (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I am normally not a review writer, but we are disappointed with this stove. Maybe its just us, but we can not get the cooktop to regulate. It heats up and turns off. Difficult to keep liquid at a boil. 2nd complaint is that you can't push the oven close to the back of the wall. We did make an insert in the drywall to allow for the plug, but because there are 2 outdents behind the control panel it won't go flush. (see pic attached) 3rd complaint is strictly cosmetic. The side of the oven door is not finished. (See picture) No one wants to see the blue ceramic part of the oven door!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst stove ever!!! This is the worse stove we have ever owned! The burners click on and off constantly, apparently to maintain the temperature. This does NOT work. Especially on one of the burners It is impossible to simmer. The oven also does not maintain the temperature. Again going on and off to supposedly maintain the set temperature . The range of temperature is far too great. Eg 350 F might range 310-365F . Not great if baking !!! I find it incredibly frustrating and difficult to bake properly. Have had this appliance for about two years ( two too many) . I does look nice though. We are tempted to get rid if it as we cook alot, but it wasn’t cheap. We had a repair person come twice but is a design flaw.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice range (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I'd been looking for a double-oven range for a while, and this one pretty much topped the list. Finally saw a great deal on it, so I snapped it up. Glad I did. Pros: Great looking; Quiet - my old range (different manufacturer) clicked noisily when the elements cycled, and the convection fan sounded like a freight train; Flexible burner configuration; Nice, even heating; Did I say great looking? Cons: No 110V outlets; Only one timer - and the beep is a bit too quiet; Only a single indicator light to indicate one or more elements are on - same for the hot surface indicator.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Good I have just encountered a major design flaw with the lower oven which I feel is extremely dangerous. The pull out racks all have an upturned lip at the back to stop things from falling off at the back but the roll out rack doesn't have this safety feature. I have just had a roasting pan full hot fat and beef roast fall off the back of the roast when I attempted to pull the rack out. I now have to wait for the oven to cool down so I can clean up the mess. As I said this is a really bad design flaw that Kitchen Aid need to Addres ASAP before someone gets badly burnt. Until this flaw is fixed I would not recommend this product Please Kitchen Aid connect with me to discuss this issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great range? (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I purchased this range because it had the double ovens, one small and one larger. I have used this configuration of range for over 30 years and love it. I find I use the smaller upper oven 90 percent of the time and save a lot of energy. The burner configuration required a bit of learning, but now that we're used to it find it very convenient. All in all an excellent range that I would recommend to friends. The only reason I did not rate it a five is because it only has one timer My old range had two timers, one for each oven, and I miss that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this stove two weeks ago and I am very pleased with this purchase. I find the double oven feature most valuable along with all its other features.

What is the height clearance of the upper oven?

Asked by: George303
Hi, thank you for contacting the Whirlpool Central Advisors. As for the dimensions of model # YKFED500ESS, please note: Cabinet opening dimensions shown are for 25" (63.5 cm) countertop depth, 24" (61.0 cm) base cabinet depth, and 36" (91.4 cm) countertop height. IMPORTANT: If installing a range hood or microwave hood combination above the cooking surface, follow the range hood or microwave hood combination installation instructions for dimensional clearances above the cooktop surface. A freestanding range may be installed next to combustible walls with zero clearance. NOTE: 24" (61.0 cm) minimum when bottom of wood or metal cabinet is covered by not less than 1 /4" (0.64 cm) flame-retardant millboard covered with not less than No. 28 MSG sheet steel, 0.015" (0.4 mm) stainless steel, 0.024" (0.6 mm) aluminum, or 0.020" (0.5 mm) copper. 30" (76.2 cm) minimum clearance between the top of the cooking platform and the bottom of an uncovered wood or metal cabinet. I hope this helps. - Whirlpool Central Advisors

Does the 30.25" depth include the oven handle?

Asked by: Robert348
Hi, thank you for contacting Whirlpool Central Advisors. Upon checking our system, we can confirm that the 28 1/2" depth includes closed handles. 30 1/4" is the measurement for the carton depth only. I hope that helps. Whirlpool Central Advisors Team
