Rated 1 out of 5 by from Kohler quality control is terrible I have been steering my customers away from Kohler products for years. I recently decided to change out three toilets in my home . I decided to pick up two Kohler toilets for upstairs and a round front champion 4 for downstairs . No surprise here, I went 0 for 2 on the Kohler products . One has a slow weep in the trap casting, the other was missing a tank bolt . I am a Master plumber in the state of Maryland and will continue to refer my customers to other brands because Kohler can't seem to ever get it right. I now have to return atleast one ( both are going back ) and pick up two more toilets from a brand I trust . Very unfortunate.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is the worst toilet i’ve ever owned! We had a plumber install this toilet for us a few months ago. Ever since it was installed we’ve never liked it due to the many design flaws it has, such as poor flush, poor quality, bad bowl rinse, and it clogs on a daily basis. We’ve own the toilet for about 2 months now and it’s already had to be snaked using a drain snake. Just take my advice and don’t get the toilet! You’re better off buying one of the Glacier Bay toilets from home depot for only $99 dollars when this one costs $149 On a side note: The Glacier Bay toilet in our upstairs bathroom that we got for $99 at home depot as well does it’s job better then this one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Toilet is ver good, but...... I ordered the toilet based on the measurements on home depot website. However, when I installed it with help of a plumber, the tank lid seems to be too bulky and he was unable to fit in the gap under the banjo counter top. I called Kohler customer support to see if they can help me find some other slimmer tank lid that can fit this toilet and they had no interest to help and quickly ended my call. I am stuck in this situation now and looking for some ideas how I can solve this problem. Lesson learnt the hard way, next time I am buying a toilet I will take a measuring tape with me and check measurements on the display unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's fantasic! Had another Kohler, similiar to this one, but it would get consistanly clogged. Researched a bettter one and discovered this model. I read reviews on this one and was impressed with comments. I've had it for over a month now and it has never once clogged. While looking, I talked with cusotmer rep in HD store, who told me the secret to a clog free toilet! He said to avoid a unit with any sharp curves in drain flow. In other words, the more gradual the drain path and/or less curves in discharge path the better it will perform! This one meets that criteria. In addition it even uses less water than my old unit!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water saving toilet The toilet was installed by a plumber which made install very easy. Looks fine and flushes fine so far. Be sure to measure correctly if you plan to DIY as not all toilet jobs are not the same. The first one I took home would not fit due to a baseboard heat section behind the toilet. It needed to be shorter from the center of the drain hole to the back of the base. The replacement taken home was correct but the tank, packed separately in the box, was in pieces. Exchanges were no problem, just time consuming. Three's a charm. Measure correctly and inspect the toilet before leaving the store for a happier you....toilet exchanges can be very heavy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Performer Bought three of these to replace 16 year old Kohlers that were getting clogged often. These toilets perform very well compared to the older ones we had. Hard to believe that this toilet with less water flushes almost 100% of the time. There have been a few times where a second flush was needed, but otherwise a very good performer. I had a plumber install them, seemed very simple to install. Caution, open the box and inspect the product before leaving the store, I had one that was broken/cracked and needed to be replaced; not good since I had a plumber waiting to install the toilet. Home Depot was fine on the return, but still a major chore to return in the middle of the install

One of the main reasons that I purchased this product is because of its several desirable features. It is elongated and therefore has a more comfortable seat fit. It also has one of the highest bowl heights available on the market today. Conveniently, the flush lever is located on the front portion of the tank for ease of reach vs on the side. In addition, it is an EPA-approved high efficiency toilet that conserves water through control of the length of the flush. According to my contractor, installation was extremely easy and straight forward. I was so extremely happy with this product that I purchased an additional one to replace another older toilet in the house as well!

I purchased three of these toilets during a recent remodeling to replace 3 Kohler toilets I have had in my home for the past 25 years. I cannot even begin to say how disappointed I am in the rinsing capabilities of these toilets. Luckily, I only installed 2 and was able to return 1. The water level in the bowl is slow low and power of the rinse so weak, be sure to have a toilet brush available at all times. I contacted Kohler, only to have them repeat what was available on the web for problem solving and ultimately told there is nothing you can do about the water level or rinsing intensity. Wow, you would think after all this time they would get it right, WRONG!

will this Cimarron K-11451-0 fit a11.5" rough in?

From the drywall to the center of toliet mounting bolts is 11.5 in but there is a .625 gap between the tank and the wall. The house was built in 1993.

The water is about an inch or so above the trap way, the bowl is not supposed to have more than that.

is this toilet insulated?

The tank is not insulated, therefore in hot, humid weather there may be some "sweating". The bowl itself is not insulated, being solid vitreous ceramic, but there shouldn't be any "sweating" as there isn't a lot of cold water inside the bowl to chill the ceramic to the point where "sweat" would occur.
