Rated 4 out of 5 by from Installation was a bit lengthy I'm a homeowner, not a pro, so it took me about 5 hours to install the door into my shower. The hardest part of the operation was cutting the top cross piece. I didn't have a miter box, so I used a hand held hacksaw and managed to cut a mostly straight line. I ended up grinding down the cut to make it fit into the shower stall. Other than this operation, the next most time consuming step was drilling six holes into porcelain tile. Turns out that a broken tile bit works the best for working your way through the material. Like I said, I'm not a pro... The door looks great and substantial and I would recommend it to you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Quality for the Price, Easy Install This was my second KOHLER shower door purchase/installation (so you know I was happy with the first). I did the entire project myself in under 2 hours. Great price and delivered when expected. The packaging and instructions are well thought out and easy to follow for the do-it-yourselfer. The most difficult (and critical) step is cutting the top and bottom rails to length (one cut on each rail) but if you have the experience, a mitre box and a hacksaw it's no problem (5-10min. per rail). IMPORTANT NOTE: Read the entire measurement/cutting procedure for each rail because you measure THEN SUBTRACT for the proper rail length. Installed, the doors look very good, feel solid and work smoothly and quietly (my first still looks and works like new after 4 years)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product This shower door system was very easy to install. The instructions are the best I have ever seen from any product. Took me about two hours to install it. It makes a huge difference in the appearance of my bathroom. It is suprising that all of the weight of the two doors is held up by two little holes near the edge of the glass, and there is no rubber bushing in the U-channel to help "Squeeze" the glass, just metal-on-glass, but I guess it will hold! It is a little weird having a towel bar on the inside of the shower. Would be nice to have more of a small handle rather than a huge bar. Very impressed. I did not have a suitable miter box, but it was easy enough to cut the top and bottom pieces square.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installation was not that bad They actually took some time to give us the customer detailed installation instructions which I would rate 5 stars. I was not in a mood to install the shower door but knew it needed to be done and the ease of installation changed my mood and it ended up being more of a fun project than a dreaded project. I love the finished project and am super happy with this purchase. Has very cushioned bumpers for the glass door which is very much appreciated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely the best shower door for the money This product is delivered in one compact, heavy box that was well padded. The instructions are clear and accurate. The handles on shower doors ALWAYS get loose and just look ugly after a wile, but not this one as it goes THROUGH the glass with NO chance of getting loose. The nickel plating is a different soft look that is very pleasing. Kohler designed and executed a wonderful looking product that is absolutely great when it is installed. Just be careful and precise when measuring and cutting. Caulk well (I like the look of white silicone along the edges, then use clear to seal between the parts). I did not caulk the top frame to the wall as it doesn't need to be waterproof at that spot and it looks cleaner (as long as you did a good cut). I installed this in my vacation condo in Florida 1 year ago and it still looks great. In short it was easy to install, easy to customize to whatever size you would need and it looks FABULOUS.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from door wont stay secure on lower track - needs velcro HD order# W143389695, Still struggling with this problem, step 19, the screw-head doesnt grip enough of the panel guide to secure the panel. Infact, the way its all been machined, only half of the head of the screw grips the panel. Eventually, the panel guide will dislodge from the screw. The door hangs from a screw hole at the top so the problem isnt "well the door was installed to high off the ground". Thought I would add some pics this time. I tried adding screw washers & then cheap velcro to keep that panel guide in place. Now tried quality velcro glued with plumbers glue. Warranty, well I could pay for an uninstall & a re-install again or ..velcro!!

I read the reviews and decided to purchase this Kohler glass door. I am so happy with it. My contractor had no problem installing it and they look fabulous.The glass is great always looks clean. I would highly recommend them. Great value, $325 plus free shipping! You can't go wrong.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product for the price. It's not bad but if you have more money to spend, I would recommend getting a better door. The design is okay but the door is not nearly as water tight as the previous one I had that was custom for my shower. If the stream of water hits the corner of door directly, it will leak outside of the shower. If the corners of the door gets hit with splashes of water from within the shower, it should be fine. The design is somewhat poor because it allows the water to pool and sit along the bottom metal track, but it shouldn't leak out if it is siliconed correctly. For the price you pay, it's a good value.

Wall to wall opening is 50in, will this door fit?

Is it confising beacuse "Opening Width (in.) 36 in. to 50 in "and Assembled Width (in.) 47.63. One of the KOhler's arnswer was it has to be 47 5/8. Please let me know.

Thank you for your inquiry. The K-702208-L-SHP will only fit an opening of 44-5/8" to 47-5/8". If you have a 50" opening, this Kohler door will not work. Kohler does offer one shower door that will fit 49" to 52" but the height is 76" Model number K-702221-L-SHP. Kohler does not manufacture any shower doors that fit a 50" opening at the 70-1/16" height.

The shower door I purchased has 1/4" thick glass, but it also comes in 3/8" in the Kohler Fluence product family. Kohler also has 1/2" thick glass in other product families. In my experience 1/4" thick is as good 3/8" or 1/2", I don't see any real benefit, except how it looks. The glass should be tempered with a glass treatment for easy cleaning.

Thank you for your inquiry. No the K-702208-L-SHP will only fit up to 47-5/8" and Kohler does not offer any type of filler pieces to accomodate 48".
