When you flush the toilet, it is quieter that the normal toilet. This toilet is easy to install if you follow the instructions. It is a different set up than the normal toilet. It sets very tight and is a comfortable height for someone with a bad knee or hip. It makes settin easier. I would recommend this toilet to people that are handicapped or hurt in any way in the hips and knees. It was very easy to install and everything you need is in the box. Love the toilet. Its well made and fits the opening like a glove.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The “Kohler Gleam” high efficiency “Water Sense” toilet safely arrived here in North Carolina due to the super packing system used by the manufacturer. After reading the enclosed directions, I installed this chair height new toilet easily using its “ready lock” system which came along with everything else that one needs for a toilet in the box. I was happy NOT to have to drill any holes at all. And this new “Kohler” toilet with its “slow-close” seat prevents slamming the lid while the elongated bowl provides more comfort for the user. This new toilet is simply amazing! Thank you to Kohler for another nice product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not a standard toilet I went to home depot and picked up this toilet. My contractors said the install was hard. After they set the toilet on the "easy install" system, it had water coming out. The installation was for a very long time. At least 2 hours. I feel really bad about it. I think the "easy install" was meant for DIYer?? so they don't need to drill?? I'm not sure. for those of you who have contractors doing things, consider just getting a standard toilet. My contractors said 'spending more' on a toilet is not worth it. If it's the height that you want, there is other cheaper Kohler model that has the same height.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weak Flush I installed this toilet a couple weeks ago. As far as the design of the toilet I love it, it’s a beautiful toilet. But like others have said, if the paper doesn’t land right in the water there’s not enough force to flush the paper down, the paper stays in the upper bowl and you end up flushing twice. Which defeats the purpose of a low flush toilet! It actually has the power to flush a lot of paper as long as the paper falls right in the water in the bowl. I’m very disappointed because I’ve had $100.00 low flush toilets in the past which worked better than this one, but I wanted a skirted toilet. The thought of having to remove and return this extremely heavy toilet is too much for me.

After we purchased them, we read the reviews, and we were skeptical of reviews that said they leaked. We installed three of them, and they are tough to install. The black mount on the bottom will only fit a particular layout. If you have any bit of a lower flange, the toilet will not mount. We finally got them installed, and the other one started leaking; after three different combinations of wax rings, I gave up and bought two glacier toilets. Install was fast and easy.

A brand I trust for quality is Kohler. This KOHLER GLEAM 2-PIECE CHAIR HEIGHT ELONGATED SKIRTED 1.28 GPF SINGLE FLUSH TOILET IN WHITE WITH SLOW CLOSE SEAT did not disappoint! Be warned it is a heavy, two piece box, but all the hardware is included and once we got it upstairs, it was pretty easy to assemble. (Roughly 2-2 1-2 hours) I love the new design that allows for the sides to be smooth and free of the dust collecting ledge! The soft close seat is a great feature, but it is the quiet and fast refill that I am most pleased with. I highly recommend this toilet and I’m happy that Kohler has maintained their high quality standards.

In our case with my wife after her heart attack needed a booster seat/chair to be able to get up from the stool, either way so she still needs to use the assist bar I mounted on the facing wall. The cover skirt for the exposed sides is a nice touch. Cleaner looking and easier to clean.

Installation was straightforward. Importantly, it fit without any problem in the same place the one it replaced, with no tweaking needed to the plumbing around it. The skirt finish gives it a clean look and is expected to make it easier to keep it clean also. Works as advertised and the 1.28 gpf seems to do the job. Haven't run into any partial flush scenario requiring double flush. Stayed away from Kohler's 'whoosh' design after reading and confirming that keeping that design clean (around the edges) would be hard. This review covers not just one unit but three units purchased and installed at the same time. Very satisfied and would recommend without hesitation.

Personally I have not and don't expect to. I've only had it a few days but it sits more solidly on the floor than the old method of attaching toilets. Additionally, the bolts that attach the tank to the base don't go through the tank as the older models do so that's one less potential weak spot.

We just had the Koehler Gleam 2 Piece Chaur Height toilet professionally installed. We love the way it looks but it has an extremely weak flush! It doesn’t even flush toilet paper. Our plumber did a number of adjustments but it did not help. Although we can return it to Hone Depot, the cost to remove and replace the toilet is painful at best. This toilet has many positive reviews so we are assuming that this one is defective. Very frustrating to say the least! Any suggestions?

Home Depot sells grab bars that attach where the hinges on the toilet seat attach (so you remove the hinges and the grab bar holds the seat down.) Check out "Glacier Bay - Toilet Support Rail Adjustable Grab Bar" or anything similar.

Yes, it comes with the wax ring & everything you need to install it. The only thing I felt I had to buy - and you don't NEED to, it's just that my dad always insisted on replacing the hose when he installed a new toilet so that's what I did, too.
