This sink is a good old fashioned cast iron model weighing a little over 30#. I love the square design. The overflow cap comes in a polished chrome but is easily removed and Kohler and others sell more colors: bronze, brushed or polished nickel. They are relatively inexpensive so you can get one to match your faucet fixture color. I like that the sink can be positioned either as an over-mount or under-mount. I will be using the latter. Also the basin is deep enough, unlike some sinks which are so shallow they hardly hold water.

When the box arrived, I wasn't sure what to expect inside but it was a pleasant surprise. The sink has a rich high quality porcelain coating, flipped to the bottom side, it's cast iron! This sink is solid and durable. The shape is unique and although it's cast iron, it's not too heavy. This sink is easy to clean since the porcelain is coated heavily and smooth. Simple a beautiful addition.

The sink and bathtub were solid cast iron just like this sink. The only difference is that this sink has the modern style and flair only Kohler can bring. The glossy enamel is smooth as silk. It looks very high-end. The polished chrome overflow drain cover with Kohler written on it is a very nice touch. You have the option of either drop in or under-mount with this sink. I haven't decided which one I prefer yet. This is a beautiful sink that will undoubtedly last a lifetime.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Heavy Trust me this is a Heavy sink if you plan to use it as an undermount. The finish is very nice in black. The overflow cap is a cheap looking plastic pop in that looks like it will fail eventually and only comes in chrome (would be nice if Kohler offered color options for the cap like brass, black or white for white sinks). We will be using 2 of these sinks in a master bathroom vanity and will be fabricating a special mounting bracket to hold the weight of this iron in place. The mounting surface for undermount is not really correct but will work per other users.

There is a chrome drain detail that I need to investigate if I can get in Oil Rubbed Bronze. I love the shape and the size. The quality is outstanding. I mounted the sink traditionally as a top mount but thought the vessel idea was interesting. One question I have is why the bottom- under the top sink rim- would be the black in vessel mount position, maybe it should be a smooth white too?

The style is very versatile, and so is the ability to mount this as either an undermount (with solid-surface vanity tops) or drop-in (e.g., on a wood or tile vanity top). I am making a custom vanity to go under this sink, and I will install the sink as a drop-in on top of a Moroccan tile countertop. In many years, however, I would like to eventually get a solid-surface vanity top when my budget allows it, and I love that I can use this sink for both installations. Note that there are no sink holes, so you either need to get a vanity and vanity top with hole(s) located behind the sink, or install a wall-mounted faucet. The sink is quite heavy, so you'll likely need a helper for installation. If you have never had enameled cast-iron before, know that it's super easy to keep clean and looking like new. This sink should last longer than I do, and still look great!

A Matte Black drain can be added to this sink, when using a Kohler faucet. This drain replacement is part number 1035350-BL. If we install this sink as a drop-in with a faucet that is 6" in height where the water comes out at 4.75" and is 6.5" long, will the water splash out of the sink?
