Rather than select what has become the norm for new and remodeled kitchens (i.e., stainless steal), we opted for this cast iron basin in a color that complements the new countertop and the tiled backsplash. We had the countertop fabricator under mount it. Once installed, it looks fantastic. The color is true to the samples we looked at and the quality if fantastic. Warning for fabricators: the sink is cast iron and very heavy; he had the carpenter add a couple of 2x4 struts to take some of the sink's weight off the countertop and divert it to the cabinet. Also, the finish is very glossy, as expected. It looks better with a polished chrome faucet and drain rather than one of the brushed finishes.

But I'm really happy with this purchase. The sink is absolutely gorgeous. Overall I would recommend this sink if you're looking for a classic white cast-iron sink - it's perfect!

The helpful staff recommended using Soft Scrub and I just discovered Bartenders Friend in a liquid form and it seems to do the trick. There was a slight mix-up with the shipping but HD staff promptly solved the problem. I'm so happy!

my countertop is old and measures only 22" wide. My builder says I can only get a sink that is not over 17" wide (front to back) will this sink fit?

These older 22" deep cabinets can be a real challenge for newer sink installations. There are other considerations not mentioned in your question. If you trust your builder, best take their advice.

Elsewhere in the questions and answers it says that this sink can be utilized with a garbage disposal but is there enough clearance with the drain hole so close to the edge? Some of these garbage disposals are pretty big.
