I bought this sink to replace a Kohler drop in sink which was about 14 years old. I did not even open the box. I was surprised to see it after it was installed. It does not look white. It is more of an off white or even bisque. I even checked the box to see if the wrong color was sent, but it is labeled white. It is nice other than that. Be aware that it is not a "true" white. My old Kohler was a beautiful white that matched my toilet, tub and tile. This does not match!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good sink as long as you don't get a defective one Ordered three of these sinks several months ago as I was remodeling all of my bathrooms and wanted them all to match. The third sink was defective. It was clearly obvious that the casting went wrong because the sink would not sit flat in the countertop opening which caused it to rock back and forth in the opening. The warped rim was so bad that it was easily visible. HD happily accepted a return. After returning the broken and defective sink, I ordered a replacement. The replacement arrived and has a chip in the front edge of it. Too small of a chip to return. Installation was easy and instructions were good. Kohler clearly has some quality control problems when they let junk like this leave their factory.

Warped, cracked, poor castings and finishes. Kohler should be embarrassed. Reaching out to the manufacturer gets you a reply of "maybe we got a bad batch- you should try purchasing them somewhere else ". If you want weeks of frustration trying to acquire a sink that is usable., this is your ticket. Way of the world- made in China. Unbelievable.

Note: I bought Koehler Pennington faucets to install with the sinks. The faucet is beautiful but for all 3 faucets the water stream is not smooth - there is some uneven spraying. Our plumber took out the water flow piece inside the faucets and that helped some but one faucet is back to spraying again. The faucets were $161 - thought Kohler would have better engineering for $161 than that.

We currently have undermount sinks that each have a round cut-out in the counter of 16 1/2 inches in diameter. Will this sink fit without changing the cut-out?

You stated that you have an undermount sink but the picture is for a flange mount like the one you are asking about. Also looking at the picture its hard to tell but if that is a formica or a non stone counter. It would be easy to add a slight notch on the sides to clear the sink if it does not quite fit given my dimensions stated below. I tried to measure the underside but almost impossible. Front to back there is enough flange to give you around 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch on top of the counter so this should be OK. It looks like side to side you need 17 inches to clear. You could buy it and return it if it does not fit I could be slightly off on the 17 inches. It a very nice looking sink of good quality. Picture as installed attached.

Hi - What's the exact difference between this sink K-2196-1-0 and the Pennington Top Mount K-R2196-4-0. I am looking to replace an existing sink in a Corian countertop. I would have defined the existing sink as a "drop-in" sink, by definition, it would appear that a drop-in and a top mount would be the same. The existing sink has screw-down mounting brackets - I am looking for this type of sink with the screw-down mounting brackets - is that a difference?

The K-R2196-4-0 requires a centerset or single hole faucet with an escutcheon to cover the 2 unused holes. The R in the second unit merely indicates this is a retail model sink.
