Unable to pump multiples times because it sticks & doesn't draw up any soap for second immediate squirt. An hour later can use again. Not very convenient when you're in the midst of cooking & need to wash up. So I still have a separate soap dispenser sitting on the counter top beside this expensive, non-working dispenser. Have a tried a variety of methods to clean & lubricate. Can't comment on ease of installation because plumber installed it. Really ticked that I paid money to have a hole drilled into my counter top & then for this waste that doesn't work.

This dispenser has been installed for about three months and the neck of the bottle just cracked and broke. Of course, when the pump didn't work I proceeded to pour about a quart of liquid soap into the fill spout before I thought to look under the sink to see of the bottle was OK. I'd guess this is highly unusual for a plastic bottle to crack after being installed for several months. Took me a quite a while to clean up the mess under the sink, I'm now not sold on Kohler products. Now I have to figure out a way of removing the broken plastic neck to see if I can just install another bottle.

This was the first time that I became aware of the cheap plastic construction. I decided not to order a replacement part as I can foresee a continuous cycle of broken parts and replacements for as long as we have the fixture. It’s really too bad, as we’re quite happy with the rest of the fixture. It’s hard to believe that Kohler would include such a poorly designed part with an otherwise great kitchen faucet - makes me wonder about their other products...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well made This soap dispenser lives up to the Kohler reputation for quality. We got it to match our brushed nickel Kohler bathroom faucet. It feels much more solid and sturdy than my last (non-Kohler) one, and the finish is beautiful. Installation was easy into the pre-drilled hole in the granite, and the included rubber gasket to seal it to the countertop was a great touch. IMO, it dispenses just the right amount of soap. Only problem for me is that our 3 year-old cannot push it down hard enough by herself, whereas she could use our last one unassisted. She will grow into it, though.

Really nice looking dispenser and matches the Simplice faucet we installed as well. The bottle it came with isn't as large as I thought it would be, but it is about twice as big as a regular dollar store soap bottle (which is what we usually have by the sink). Because of the reviews and recommendations to not use thicker soaps with moisturizer, I bought regular antibacterial soap and added some of the thinner, foaming soap to dilute it. Installation was pretty simple. Soap comes out great, and only needs one pump to get plenty out. I only gave it four stars because the price was pretty steep for something as simple as this dispenser. BUT it was cheaper than some of the other ones we looked at...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built dispenser Simple to install. Longer threads allowed it to simply install in a 3cm stone counter top. It primes well and holds a prime. I removed the bottle and inserted a barbed brass fitting that fit the ID of the fill tube - connected the other end to 24" of tubing and placed the open end of the tubing into a large soap bottle in the back of the cabinet - works great - don't have the hassle of refilling the small bottle as frequently.

However, this one broke in 2 weeks with the lip of the soap bottle breaking off and spilling all the soap on the cabinet floor under the sink. This unit used much more plastic than the 4 year old model which used brass for the threaded section. I believe Kohler has slipped quite a bit in the quality department and will not be buying this brand again.

A granite installation company did five of them for us with no damage to the granite. We had had soap dispensers put into our bathroom in our previous house and just loved them--no bottles of soap to knock over, no messy soap dishes. We would highly recommend them. This particular design went well with our Moen fixtures even though they are made by Kohler.

K-1893-C-VS and all other Kohler soap/lotion dispensers are designed to be filled from above the countertop. Do you have to use two hands to get soap (one hand pushes down while the other is under the spout to catch the soap), or can you use one hand (put your thumb on the pump and your hand under the spout?)

we have a very tight space under the dispenser. I purchased a generic dispenser but the bottle doesn't fit in the space. My old bottle was thinner.
