It needs two bumpers on each side. With the replacement warranty I'll add the extra myself. It's not that scientific just look and wait for a 250lb relative to plop to the rear a bit - busted butt.

However, it does not fit our high end toilet very well. This is not the fault of the seat - I wanted the toilet I picked out and wanted a wooden seat for it, and the recommended seat only came in plastic - ugh! The trouble is that the front of the toilet sticks out beyond the edge of the front of the toilet seat, which makes things awkward when one is wearing slacks. Also, the seat slips slightly, but this may be my error because I couldn't tighten it enough. It is a quality, wooden toilet seat.

I dislike the cheaper plastic seats since they tend to bend and buckle when you are sitting on the seat lid (like when cutting your toenails). This is solid and very nicely finished, complementing the Kohler Cimmaron toilet that I installed it on.
