It has a 91/2" deep curved sided double bowl, which is nice for larger pots and pans. It is made of 18 gauge steel for durability and quality. It has a nice, simplistic, modern design and will complement any kitchen decor for a lifetime of use. This sink has the drain holes towards the back half of the sink to allow more undersink storage space, and has sound deadening pads underneath to cut down on kitchen noise. It also comes with a bottom basin rack for draining dishes. The sink was shipped quickly from Home Depot to my door in perfect condition!

I wanted the very best stainless steel sink available that would last for years. The videos showed that this sink could not be scratched. It was the most expensive sink available and for the price, I expected perfection. I also chose Kohler as I thought I was getting a product made in America. The sink is made in Mexico. When I received the sink, it was poorly packaged and you could see grove lines along the top edges along both sides. Definitely not worth the high price tag. I returned the sink and purchased a Krause sink for 1/3rd the cost. It came packaged in a heavy double walled box, surrounded with styrofoam and enclosed in a giant cloth bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sound Dampening Works. Excellent Sink. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OVERALL: Looks great, nice rich gray color. Well brushed stainless finish. Excellent sound dampening. Sizing pretty much exact to expected. Really well put together. Take note of usable dimension below. FINISH: Very nice brushed finish. Gives the sink a nice gray glow which you see in high end stainless, not the cheaper looking shiny finish that scratches quickly. Nice sink insert rack for drying. SOUND: As advertised. The sink has foam pads attached to the outer surface on every side. An object falling into the sink makes a dull thud, rather than a ringing sound you might expect. INSTALLATION: Comes with a nice template if you are going a new counter. Always a little trick to retrofit an existing counter (my case) but it is doable. Fairly light, so that does help. FIT: To measurements, but take note that the 18"x31.5" isn't all usable space. There is a 1/2" lip on each side that needs to be covered by the counter. That makes the hole more like 17"x 30.5', which can be important for a retrofit, not so much for new installation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to say, I am extremely impressed with the quality of this stainless undermount sink. I needed a new one in our basement kitchen area with granite counter tops, and this fit the bill. I had never installed an undermount sink before, so I had a professional come over and install it for me and it looks absolutely stunning. I also appreciate the sound reduction insulation so that when the water is running, it's not too loud which is kinda important when we're watching movies down there sometimes. Best of all with it being undermount, I can just take a rag and sweep everything into this sink without anything getting caught on the "lip" of a top mounted sink. Makes cleanup easier!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a first rate sink with heavy weight, 18 gauge stainless steel and a brushed satin finish. The double bowls each measure a spacious 15 3/4" (front to back) X 13 78" (side to side) X 9 1/4" deep. These measurements are inside bowl measurements. Hole cut out for this sink should be done after the sink is on site to eliminate any doubt, i.e. mistake. There are no faucet holes...this sink is designed as an under mount sink. The faucet needs to be mounted in the counter top, not the sink. The sink comes with one removable rack. The rack is nice, but for the cost of this sink, they could have one for both sides. This Kohler sink is pure quality. The finish is beautiful. I'm curious to see how "scratch resistant" it is. I don't plan to abuse it, but experience tells me there's not a lot you can do to prevent pots from scarring up a stainless finish. Time will tell. The sides are not tapered but, rather straight, only having a short radius where they intersect the bottom of the basins. The lines of the sink are very clean and sharp looking, allowing more interior space in each basin. The basket strainer holes are about 3" from the rear of the sink, enabling plumbing to be installed to the rear of the cabinet. While this causes a little more effort installing the disposer and trap set, it allows more room and fewer obstructions in the cabinet below. This is especially useful if you have, or plan to have, drawers under you sink. The unfinished sides and bottom have vibration absorbing pads, helping to reduce noise from the sink when using the disposer. Along with the thick stainless steel, they do a decent job muffling disposer noise. If disposer noise is critical, then consider porcelain on cast iron...it is the most quiet of all sinks. I'm not sure why the description states a minimum cabinet width of 39"...the width with the under mount lips is 31 1/2" . The extra cabinet width is nice for installing the clips, but I think it's still doable in a 36" base cabinet. The only issue I have with this sink is the packaging, or lack there of. My sink arrived with a badly dented rim on one corner. The sink sits in a cardboard box on a cardboard "shelf" with no type of protection or padding on the sides, top, and bottom. Styrofoam, bubble wrap (fill), or environmentally friendly cardboard pads would be prudent, especially considering the cost of these sinks as well as the shipping environment. The box this unit is packaged in is suitable for merchandising on the shelf and nothing more. I would advise shipping this sink to the store for pickup as oppose to your home. I think it would have a better chance for survival.

After one weekend of use, there are scratches all over the bottom of the sink where I washed pots and pans. Can't return it because it is already installed. I don't know how a cheaper sink would handle wear but if you buy this, (I wouldn't) also buy the sink basin rack. To do again, I would buy a much cheaper sink and buy a sink basin rack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High grade stainless steel double bowl sink [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received this sink (shipped to me), I picked up the box and noticed how heavy it is. I've installed many kitchen sinks and this one is much heavier than any other I've used. The packaging is well done and the sink came undamaged - a definite plus! The sink comes with a nice rack for the bottom. The steel is 18 gauge - very thick and solid feeling. The finish on the inside is nice and consistent. This sink is 9 1/2 inches deep! It takes quite a bit of water to fill it up. It was easy to install. One thing to remember is that the granite slab must go on top of the sink - it's not meant to be a drop in type sink. The underside has some sound deadening material - looks like a pad type material. It does a good job isolating the noise from the garbage disposal. Our old sink had the same material and it does work. This sink has a wonderful quality feel. The finish is superb, it feels so solid and the depth is impressive. It makes our kitchen look so much better than before. I highly recommend this sink to someone looking to make a strong statement about quality.

if this is a 31 inch sink why does it require a 39 inch cabinet?

most 31-32 inch sinks require a 34-36 inch cabinet so Im just not sure why this one requires such a larger base cabinet size.
