Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice pleasant elegant looking shower head with a natural smooth flow of water There is some installation required of the four shower heads to the main body of the shower head, which is quite easily done. The plumbing from the water valve to the shower head is a cinch for anyone with plumbing skills, should you be changing a shower head from wall mount to ceiling mount for this application, The finish is nice and the water distribution from the shower head is smooth and relaxing. It adds a very nice new feel to the shower. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Kohler Rain Panel The rain panel is a luxurious upgrade to a modern, spa-like bathroom. We are renovating our home room by room, and have not yet installed the rain panel in our master bathroom. It looks like we will definitely need to hire a pro to install it, as it involves rerouting the water piping up from the current shower wall to the ceiling. So it's going to be a bit of a project between the plumbing and wall repair. However, it looks very high-end, and I have not doubt that the flow and function will be superb, as I've come to expect from Kohler products. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ummm - Poke it with a stick? Yep this is a FLUSH mounted shower head, meaning that this gets installed in the CEILING! Unless you're doing a new bathroom remodel and can plan to have a low slung ceiling in the shower stall area then this may not be the shower head for you. I am planning a complete bathroom remodel and, regardless of that fact, I do not want low ceilings in the extra large walk in shower stall that I'm planning on having built. Mind you I'm 5'6 on a good day so what am I supposed to do if it's mounted to the ceiling - poke it with a stick? I suppose you can build a 45 degree angled soffit of sorts and install it in that to have a more built in look but it just seems like lots of work. OK that aside, Kohler does make quality products and this is no exception. Each of the 4 panels hinge and move independently to direct water where you want it and that is a great option but have you looked at the price??? YIKES!! There are lots of other similar options that are more easily installed, aren't flush mounted and will give you that rain shower spa like feel. Shop it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection! We're doing a remodel of our master bathroom and I though I'd try something fancy with our shower. We have a separate shower stall and bathtub setup, so what better way to make the shower extra special. The Water Tile Rain overhead shower panel is something special. It's build into the ceiling, which means some extra plumbing and work in the attic. The four square spray heads are able to be hooked up individually, in pairs or all four. I chose to do two heads on one valve and two on another. I didn't know if there would be enough water pressure for all four to run at once, so I played it safe and ran two separate valves. The installation is definitely for the experienced. This is not a simple valve/shower head installation. If you're not comfortable doing this type of work, I recommend hiring a professional. The installation took me an entire day, including the two valves. Our existing shower had a simple single valve and single shower head. I installed three valves, a handheld shower system and this overhead system. I was going to do a body spray system, but it seemed like overkill - i hope I don't regret it later! I love the feel of rain can shower heads and this one is phenomenal! Running all four heads gives the feeling that you're in a nice natural rain. It's very relaxing and takes away all the stress from life! The feeling from this four head system is even better than a large, high quality rain can shower head. And the extra distance from the ceiling down adds to the sensation! I know this system is a lot of work and expense, but if you want something absolutely amazing, I highly recommend installing one of these systems. It adds an extra dimension to your daily shower! Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed. Kohler could discontinue this product in my humble opinion. Installation is far from easy even for seasoned pros saying "is the frustration worth the reward?" Cons as follows; Cons: -price is far too ridiculous for what you get and should come with a brass manifold to eliminate the complexity of installation building your own type of manifold with standard plumbing which leads into the next con. -installation is quite difficult and is only really suitable for new construction. Yes it comes with a template to build your own manifold and is made of aluminum but why not just spend that part of product development towards a manufactured manifold to include for this expensive price?!!!!?????? -the assembly is complicated and has rubber/vinyl sheets of jets that must be cleaned periodically...this is very frustrating and similar to other kohler shower heads with this same type of jet. -do NOT use sanded grout if you decide to try and flush it up with tile, in fact, grout before installing the face plate since the plate does not a protective film for installation. -the dimension of the face plate is odd when comparing to tile dimensions to continue a defined pattern...it just does not match up right. Pros: -the valve assembly seems to be decent and highly engineered. -it does look neat when installed flush but here's a con...I don't think they designed it to be installed flush but it wants to be or it does not...it's going to confuse someone. I personally am less than thrilled with this product from Kohler...I expect far better from a largely trusted, quality brand. I will never recommend this product to any of my clients...yes it looks cool but practicality and needs versus wants need to be considered before venturing into even the slightest consideration as there are far too many other products in this market at this price that are genuinely better from pretty much every standpoint except maybe aesthetic. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Shower Head This shower head is a work of art. The head is made of brass and chrome plated brass so its very heavy but the workmanship is truly fantastic. Every part is cast and machined to perfection. The install is very time consuming since there are so many pieces to cut, align and solder. The directions are very detailed and show every step. It just takes time to get everything just right so it all fits. The shower head does come with a very heavy stamped aluminum soldering jig that makes this all possible. I used all copper for the supply, since it gives more flexibility in adjusting everything. Once everything is assembled on the bench your ready to install it into the ceiling and connect the water supply and assemble everything for the last time. Now that everything is in place and tested it's time to take a shower. All the work is well worth it. This makes taking a shower so nice. The water can be moved to whatever suits you. It's not a powerful stream but more like a warm waterfall. Very relaxing and covers you in warm water all over, not just one area. No more cold spots with just one spot of warm water. This is truly luxury. The shower heads all have silicone spray tips so hard water won't clog. Just a rub with a soft towel and the shower head is working like new. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Only for professional installation This not your typical DIY. This is the stuff you see installed directly into the ceiling. It has four separate panels each with 22 nozzle. You can control each of them independently. I guess you would need a ladder and adjust it once. I would not try to install this myself since you will need ceiling access. Definitely, this is for a home remodel not just your typical upgrade. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Are you kidding, Kohler?! This is a quality product from Kohler, but I don't think I would refer to it as a typical shower head. There is nothing standard about this device. It is designed to be custom flush mounted to the ceiling, and the measurements have to be precise to make this work. It is NOT designed to be mounted on a standard shower arm of any type. Note the pics from the manual. The manual is very detailed, and it's a good thing; there's no "winging it" with this installation! The four indiviually pivoting heads operate at the same water pressure and volume. Although you can pivot them separately, they all have the same "rain shower" type spray. One problem with this mounting design is the ceiling heght of the shower. Depending on the height of the person showering, the heads can only be adjusted if one can reach the ceiling. I would say that any ceiling height of more than 7 feet would make adjusting the pivoting heads difficult. If this head had a shroud that housed the pressure balancing loop, and a standard 1/2" NPT female fitting, then it could be mounted to any standard shower arm, including a drop arm from the ceiling. Also, installlation would be incredibly simple. But that's not the look Kohler was going for, despite its functionablility, It should be noted that this shower head could only be installed in new construction or a shower renovation project. Access to the ceiling, as well as the shower output from the faucet, is necessary to mount and feed the device. The rain shower spray feels(and functions) great, and it should for what the product and the installation will cost you! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
