Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job! A good unit that weighs surprisingly a lot more than you would expect. I checked all of my appliances were within the wattage limit which is essential. My use was for UK electronics and the socket in the unit is suitable but too close to the other protruding sockets. This means that it can be tricky to put in a plug in/remove it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy so far Just bought the 1700 and 600 w models. The 1700w is for a TV, HiFi, PS3, and a dvd player. Total 900w. All is great so far, the thing looks very good quality and is very, very quiet. I had to put my ear on it to hear it run. For the first 2 hours that I powered everything together I noticed practically no heat coming from it. I think this will last me many years. Definately recommended and definately worth the extra money. I ll update if anything goes wrong

The package and the unit was cheap with a piece of paper for instruction. It was loud and I could the buzzing noise all the time I turned it on. Then after 2 weeks I can hear it cracking then it stopped working so I returned it. After I searched on website and came across with this one. The price is nearly double from the old unit but I was impress of the quality of the unit, instruction and packaging. I'm using it first time today and the unit is running quietly, not heating up...so far so good. I would recommend Krieger to manufacturers ones with the higher watt: 3,000 and 5,000 for cooking appliances from Europe and Asia. We encourage you to review our guidelines and resubmit your review on 1,700-Watt Step Up/Down Voltage Transformer.

Most are bad quality, and one actually caught fire. With this one from Krieger I finally found one with decent quality. I am using it daily with a 220 V kitchen appliance that is rated at 1500 Watt. Costs more than others, but definitely recommend it!

(I have 4, and all 4 do this) Like to the point where you can almost not touch it after a couple of hours. But, it does put out a constant voltage, no drops, and works great.
