Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed to hold mirror after 24 hours. After 24 hours I removed the supports and everything seemed fine. That is until I noticed the mirror slid down the wall overnight. Was able to save the mirror because the adhesive had the consistency of dried out bubble gum. Used PL Premium and mirror is holding. Still not happy about wasting my time and money.

How much PL 610 do I apply to the drywall before installing the mirror? I am installing a frameless mirror that measures 42 inches by 62 inches (107 cm x 157 cm). Also, is there a recommended patter for the application? ie. horizontally or vertically

Asked by: JoeD
Thank you for posting your question. Complete installation details can be found on the product Technical Data Sheet at ww.lepage.ca for mirror hanging. The product label does not contain all the finer details and it is important to follow these instructions completely otherwise failure could occur. Dollops/daubs/spots of adhesive are recommended 5 to 7.5 cm (2 to 3 inch) diameter spots approximately 12 mm (1/2 inch) thick for every square foot of mirror. Do not place the adhesive too close to the edge to prevent squeeze out. This adhesive does require a support system, such as plastic holders or mirror clips or channels must be used to hold mirrors in place. The adhesive can not be used as the sole means of support. Can I use this adhesive to bond the BACK of a 12lbs frameless mirror to a French cleat system made of metal? I think the cleat piece that attaches to the back of the mirror is made of aluminum. Otherwise what other adhesive do you recommend?

Asked by: Lido
I’m not sure about the metal. But when we used it to glue a frameless mirror to drywall, even with it taped to the wall our first mirror fell and shattered. The second time around we used the hook and screws at the bottom to make sure it couldn’t fall before the glue set.

Can this be used to stick wood moulding on the mirror to create a faux frame?

Asked by: bgoya
Thank you for the question. We would not recommend this type of application. First, if the intended application is on or to the mirrored finish, the PL 610 will not bond very well to the mirrored finish and may fail. Second, the PL 610 is a solvent based product. If the adhesive makes contact with the edges of the mirror it can cause damage to the silvering or reflective part of the mirror at the edges.
