Easy to install, look great. The cost difference to do tamper resistant plugs is pretty minimal. I did them for all plugs under 4' off the ground. Really no inconvenience to an adult. Sometime you need to angle the plug a little so it pushes the protector aside. No problem. Strongly recommend getting the large outlet covers with these, and getting some foam insulation that come with Decora cover cut outs. Works the best of anything I've tried.

I replaced all the original almond color outlets, switches & cover plates with Leviton Decora products. Quality, durable products at a fair/reasonable price. The tamper resitant feature is awesome if you have you toddlers/young children. Instructions are simple/straight forward & installation was easy. Great assistance provided by Home Depot electrical associates in purchasing the right products & quantity. Great customer support provided by Leviton when I called for clarification/assistance & troubleshooting with a minor issue. Strongly recommend Leviton products for your eletrical needs. You won't be disappointed.

What a good idea - tamper resistant outlets - no more plastic plugs to keep children safe from getting shocked or electrocuted by these. It was super easy to install. In the back of my mind I had thought I might have to hire an electrician to come out and install it for me and how costly that could be, so I decided to give it a try. Although in tiny print, the instructions are quite clear and made it an easy task.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Decora 15 amp tamper resistant duplex 115 volt outlet is better than I expected. The outlet was simple to swap out with the existing outlet. The connections easily accepted the solid copper wire. The tamper proof outlets work quite well. It is obvious that children would have extreme difficulty in making contact with the outlets. It was even a bonus that the outlet cover was included. I plan on going to Home Depot to purchase additional outlets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from stupid branding on the front of switch I read from the reviews that the individual outlets didnt have the branding so i paid more for the individually packaged outlets. the pictures dont show a branding on the front as well but they came with the branding!!! so annoying. had a deadline so had to install them anyway and im very annoyed by it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the Leviton Decora 15 Amp Tamper Resistant Duplex... I love the Leviton Decora 15 Amp Tamper Resistant Duplex Outlet. I am in a home that is about 15 years old. I have found several of the builders outlets that don't always connect when an appliance is plugged in to the socket. The builder probably spent $0.50 on each outlet. Leviton Decora 15 Amp Tamper Resistant Duplex Outlet are a bit more robust and still economical. I like a lot of what Leviton produces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Replacement Part I bought this two weeks ago to replace an 12 year old Decora Receptacle that wasn't holding plugs tight to the wall. This was simple enough to install following the instructions and holds plugs tight to the wall which is a lot safer. And the tamper-resistant design is an excellent feature for an electrical outlet that is unobstructed by shelves, sofas, and tables.

Yes, you can split feed this receptacle. In order to do so, you must break off the small metal tab that connects the two Common terminals. This will allow you to wire two separate hot wires to the receptacle (Constant hot + Switched hot).

Does Virginia code allow for 15 amp receptacles to be used with 12/2 wire and 20 amp breaker?

I like using 12/2 wire and 20 amp breakers because I can load more on each circuit. I've always used a 15 amp receptacle... is that okay or do I need to go up to a 20 amp receptacle?

Can this outlet accept 8 #12 gauge wires? Or can it accept 2 #12 gauge wires pushing under the screw? It's difficult to curve 2 #12 gauge wires in each screw.

Terminal screws will accept #12 wire. Use pliers to make small hook on wire. When installing hook over screw have the hook point to the right. So hook will wrap around screw in a clock-wise direction. This will allow the screw to pull the hook tighter.

Both, remember a 15amp breaker can run upwards of 12 outlets provided, your not over loading each outlet.
