I have a pretty big house, but only have 1, 5 ton unit to try and cool it. I bought this to help my main not run so much. It cools great, and is really quiet, which is also something I was looking for. I have it to cool my connecting kitchen and living rooms. It works well for that. My only problem with this, is the wifi will not connect, no matter how many times I've tried. My wifi is strong enough to listen to Pandora while mowing the grass, so I don't think it's my router, esp since I've seen other people make the same complaint. other than that, which was also a selling point, I would give it 5 stars. If that's not a problem for you this is an excellent a/c.

I already own an LG brand window air conditioner that is a couple of years old and it has always worked very well and I barely notice any increase in my electric bills. I got this unit to cool additional rooms in my house. My kitchen is open to my living room and together they add up to about 575 square feet and this air conditioner will keep the entire space cool and comfortable on a 95 degree day as long as I close off other rooms. The addition of the ability to control it remotely with my smart phone seems kind of unnecessary but I may try to use that feature so that I can cool the house before I get home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Sq footage covered I was able in put this in myself, very simple the only issues I ran into was because I was installing it in a vertical sliding window. I have an open concept floor plan with about 750sq ft and a vaulted ceiling going has high as 20 ft. The 10,000 btu has cooled my entire downstairs (living room, dining room and kitchen) with no issues. It has also cooled the upstairs as well, obviously not as much but I can definitely tell a difference. Best purchase I’ve made this year. I haven’t used the WiFi setting, maybe one day but it seemed like a nice option to have.

I had a smaller unit made by another manufacturer and wanted to upgrade. I did my research a per Consumer Reports this was the best unit it's class. What a crock. This unit would not cool the room, that was only 200 sq ft, by 5 degrees. I contacted LG and they sent someone out and replaced the mother board as they said that was the issue. This still did not fix it. It would only cool it 5 degrees. My old unit at have the BTU's cooled better than this. This will be going back and will be the only LG product I ever waste my time on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I bought this AC unit in late summer for my TV room and kitchen as an alternative to very expensive forced air AC for the entire house. This LG model is so effective! I keep it turned to 70 degrees, energy-saving, low fan - and it makes both rooms very cool and comfortable. Also, the cool air drifts down the hall into the other rooms, which is also nice. I like how easy to operate the LG is, and I like the easy remote. Also, the filter is very easy to clean in about 2 minutes. I would say the sound level is medium; I do have to turn up the TV volume, but this is not a big deal to me when compared with a cool room.

It's quiet, easy to install, BUT these are the things that would prevent me from buying another one. Top most the blower is weak, On high setting it feels like it's set on low, especially compared to the old 10,000btu unit I replaced it with. My old unit on high felt like a hurricane force wind coming out of it. This model on high feels like a soft gentle breeze coming out it which makes cooling down a large room harder and longer to do. My 2nd issue is when set on dehumidify you have no fan speed control. 3rd issue it doesn't cool down to specified temperature. I have it set to 68 but the room maintains a constant temp of 72 to 73 degrees. That a 4-5 difference!! This unit is factory set to focus more on energy efficiency then anything else. The condenser constantly turns on and off with a few minutes of each other.

I wanted a larger air conditioner that could cool down most of an entire floor. I bought two of these. I have had them for about one month and they have exceeded expectations. The Wi-Fi feature is a nice option although the unit farther from the router has had trouble connecting. One thing a would recommend is buying a support bracket as they are fairly heavy. The instructions tell you to remove the outer case from the unit and install that in the window first but I installed it as is. Because of the weight and size of these I am considering leaving them in thru the winter. The boss might overrule that.

If your window sill and sash are square as they should be, the unit will sit parallel to the ground, and not tilt toward the outside for drainage. There are instructions on the LG site to use provided shims to tilt the unit back, but they are not included and the picture is unclear. So I drilled 3 holes behind the original holes that LG made in the bottom of the frame that screws into the window sill. This added a slight tilt that may or may not allow drainage. LG phone support in the Phillipines had no idea how to assist with the tilt.
