Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst AC ever I bought this piece of junk to replace my Danby 8000 btu unit. This LG model is twice the price and has HALF the cooling power, 1/4 the vent strength, and is so much noisier that i have to wear earplugs. The vents point straight up, ensuring only the area immediately around the unit, maybe 4 square feet, is cooled. The rest of your apartment will remain a sauna. The hose doesnt fully attach and without duct tape with blow the heat DIRECTLY into your home. It is without a doubt, the worst purchase i have ever made.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don’t bother with horizontal sliding windows Fits terribly in horizontal sliding windows. Had to drill our own screws into the plastic to stop it from sliding and then duct tape the exhaust hose into it. Also does not really take much humidity out. Expected more for the price.

Are there water leakage or water drainage issues with this model?

Asked by: jj28
As long as you use the unit as per owner's manual, such as using the upper drain port with hose during dry mode and draining the unit properly when E5 (drain bucket full) is shown through bottom drain port, the unit will not leak.

My window opens from side to side not up and down. Does it come with something to put in the window from top to bottom. Also if it’s nice out can I easily remove the hose and replace my screen for fresh outside air.

Asked by: Linda Loo
Yes, it comes with pieces to block the window opening that can be used vertically or horizontally, and there's a few of them to adjust for different lengths or heights of windows. My windows open sideways as well. How easy it is to put into the window and take out will depend a bit on your set up, but I don't see it being a big issue. I think removing and replacing the screen would be the trickiest part. I live in an apartment with old windows and gave up on removing the screen and just put it in front of the screen, held in by the window pane. It comes with some sticky-back foam you can insert to secure and seal the plastic insert against the window, and also a strip of loose foam you can wedge in.

Do I need to remove the window net since the air conditioner need to direct the hot air outside?

Asked by: waiting99
if you can install the installation kit without removing the net, you do not have to remove the net as nothing will be protruded from the window for portable air conditioner.

Any tips on stopping hot air from coming out of the hose where it connects to the back of the unit?

Asked by: Sam11
You will need to install the exhaust air vent properly and direct this hot air outside. All types of Air sourced air conditioners will have hot air coming out on the exhaust.

Does it come with a window or door vent kit?

Asked by: Blair
It comes with panels which will fit various windows. A door could be done, but with one's own wood or plastic panel to fill gap.

How long is the cord to plug in? And can it be plugged into a power bar? Also, when I set it up on my window, does it come with the parts that the hose fits through, but blocks the rest of the open window?

Asked by: ReganP
Hello, The cord is 4 Feet long. It has a three pronged plug so as long as the power bar accepts that, it should be fine, but I am not an electrician. I have vented my unit through the wall because I didn't have a window in the loft where it is located. However it did come with equipment necessary to vent through a window. I hope that helps.
