Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fan is awful Fan does not move any steam off the cooktop so the steam goes up through the keypad and I fear it will eventually cause moisture issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY Had this just under a month now, and the exhaust fan didn't seem to be working. Had a tech come and look and did the test and he said it is functioning, but this model has a known issue (known by LG for many years) and that the exhaust fan is just terrible and does not extract smells and steam like it is supposed to. Will never by buying LG ever again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works So far so good. Looks good. Working well. Installation DIY went well. Reserving 1 star as it's only been installed a few months. We'll see if it lasts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Life of microwave is short, The exhaust fan never really worked that well. Now the microwave overheats. Does not always heats or cooks food items.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't tell you how it works. It won't open. We had to replace our 5 year old (previous version) microwave. It was also an LG Over the Range model that just stopped working and LG confirmed that at 5 years old it wasn't worth even trying to repair. So we bought another LG because we want to keep the same finish and look which pretty much forces us to stay with this brand. We bought this model which is more or less just a new version of what we had but I have to return it without ever using it because once it is installed the door hinge design in this model requires 1 full inch (2.5 cm) of clearance from the cabinets in order to open. So if you have shallow upper cabinets beside your range this shouldn't be a problem but if you are like almost every kitchen I have seen in our part of the world and your cabinet uppers are normal uppers, then you can't open the door to this microwave once it is installed unless you add another full 1 inch spacer behind the microwave to make it stick out in front of your cabinets. If you do that then the venting won't line up with standard exhaust venting, and if you are replacing a previous model then the mounting holes in your cabinets also will not line up which means doubling the holes in your cabinets to mount this unit. I have not been impressed with LG's appliances because with the microwave breaking down that now means that we have had problems with all 3 major LG appliances that we bought in 2013. The fridge door doesn't work properly and started to be a problem only 2 years in, the stove top has uneven heat and has since new, the main oven element burned out earlier this year requiring costly repairs, and now the microwave has failed and needs to be replaced and the new version uses a different door hinge that will not fit in flush-mounted settings. The old microwave worked, as I am sure this one would as well if I could open it. But really I can't recommend this product unless you are certain that your cabinets are LESS than 14 inches deep, and unless you are happy having to replace the product every 5 years or so.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Much better than Samsung Much more powerful than our Samsung. Anything we've owned that had the Samsung brand name has failed soon after the warranty expired. The one issue with our LG is the viewing area is really small so it is hard to monitor anything in the microwave

does the fan and set up foor the LMV2053ST allow for direct exhaust outside

Asked by: frontchy
The unit is able to vent to the outside. The ductwork you need for outside ventilation is not included with your oven. You may vent your oven in one of three ways. Do NOT vent into a wall cavity, an attic, or an unused area. • Roof-venting If your oven is located on an outside wall near the roof. • Wall-venting If your oven is located on an outside wall of your house. • Room-venting If your oven is located on an inside wall of your house. NOTE: If you choose the rear exhaust method (roof-or wall-venting), be sure there is enough clearance within the wall for the exhaust duct. Design, features and specifications subject to change without notice.
