Rated 1 out of 5 by from BIG MISTAKE!!! Clothes float on top of the water during the wash cycle and soap does not rinse out of the clothes. MUST use extra rinse on dark clothes, otherwise we get soap stains, each and every time. It does not matter if it is a small or large load. The rinse cycle is super fast and the clothes never even get rinsed. After the wash cycle the clothes go through a spin cycle before the rinse so they are on the sides of the tub. The turbo rinse throws water on the clothes, but how are the clothes supposed to rinse if they never even get wet enough to fall off the sides of the tub. Before you know it, it is the spin cycle again. So disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great but doesn’t clean well The reviews on this machine are so good but we’ve been highly disappointed. We had an agitator washer for 15 years and that thing cleaned our clothes SO well. When it broke, we thought we should “get with the times” and forgo the agitator. This new washer looked amazing — great reviews and a large tub that can accommodate a large load of laundry. Sadly, our kids clothes are consistently not clean. I’ve tried the “deep wash” setting and the “heavy duty” setting, but it doesn’t really help. Maybe this machine would work better for people who don’t actually get their clothes all that dirty? I wouldn’t recommend this machine for people who actually get their clothes dirty and would like them to be thoroughly cleaned.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesnt fill up enough Doesnt fill up enough to wash properly so it does spin how they show this " technology" spins it. If you select yo fill the tub up more with the bedding cycle the clothes come out soaked because its fill with water 2 mins up to the finish ??There is also water in the detergent dispenser everytime its finished so I don't know if the detergent gets released evenly. I asked for a new part and they gave the same part that does the same thing. Wifi in it also doesn't reach my basement and it's not my internet. Big tub though...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I have had this washer for about 6 months. Does not remove stains (using Tide liquid) Can only wash a few items at a time even though it has a very large drum, due to the fact the water doesn't cover the clothes so some items of my clothing, when washed are coming out like I put them in. Bedding items are the worse, even though there is a specific "Bedding" button to choose from. My washer doesn't have an agitator so it seems like the clothes are just setting on top of the water when the wash cycle is on. The best feature is that this machine is really quiet and no vibration at all

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY unhappy with this purchase. I am at a loss to understand how there are so many positive reviews for this washing machine. I can only assume it is because people submitted their reviews too early after purchase. After two years of trying different cycle combinations, my clothes still do not get clean. I have to select "water plus" every time just to have enough water for all my clothes to get wet, and the Wash Pulsator technology barely moves the load around even when I select "heavy soil". When I contacted LG's customer service a few weeks after my purchase, I was told that it was probably because I needed to run a cleaning cycle in order to "reset" the machine. I was skeptical, but tried it anyway. Of course, it didn't work. So all this time later, I remain unimpressed with LG, and incredibly frustrated by my less-than-clean clothes and the significant amount of money I feel I wasted on this machine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Electronics problems Bought this 2 years ago, worked well for 2 years then....the appliance repair guy tells me the main power board has failed. Replacement is 2 - 4 months away - maybe. Looking on social media, LOTS of problems having to do "hard" resets often for many users. Might not be a huge problem but there are no parts in I have a very large 100lb paperweight.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst washer I have ever owned In 35 years of owning washing machines, I have never owned one that is this bad. Where to begin? In Normal cycle there is not anywhere near enough water to wash the clothes. Turbowash on this cycle doesn't rinse at all adequately - a few sprays of water on spinning tub is not an adequate rinse. If you press the Water Plus option, it immediately kicks you out of your "Normal" cycle (and Turbowash!...back to the sub-par agitation), and only adds a slight bit more water. This machine is either way too stingy with water or a total water guzzler, there is no happy medium. Bedding cycle is a joke, it's like the sensor doesn't work on this consistently fills water to the very top of this very large tub, no matter if your bedding only fills 1/3 or even 1/2 of the tub... then all your bedding floats on top while the impeller moves on the bottom agitating nothing at all. Your bedding just floats at the top not moving at all. This high water level also so markedly dilutes your soap so as to render it useless. (and heaven forbid if you pause the machine to add more soap! Then the computer does all kinds of wonky things like putting your machine on spin for 30 minutes). Same with the "Rinse and Spin" setting -- fills water to the very top of tub, no matter that you only have 1/4 tub of clothes...then you get the "float" again. I'm relegated to using only two settings for all my laundry - Normal or Deep Wash...and even then I hold my breath to see what new and unpleasant things are going to happen. Hot setting isn't hot at all, it's only lukewarm. (who knows what warm setting actually is...). The spinning is not smooth-sounding whatsoever... when the tub turns, it clunks and clicks and rattles and shakes and makes all kinds of ungodly noises...even worse when you have a big load of clothes (it IS a big tub after all, isn't it designed to handle bigger loads?) the whole thing sounds like it's gonna explode. Who designs these machines? Do they actually pay engineers to design these? LG -- I want a different machine!!!

Hello. Does this LG Electronics 5.8 cu.ft Top Load Washer fill the tub like the olden days? And does it have that thing in the middle of the drum? Thanks.

Asked by: Stephanie
No, the unit does no have a middle drum. It's really gentle, but extremely efficient and kind to the clothes. It fills according to how much you put in it. We think it's wonderful. Washes & cleans beautifully without stressing the clothing. Plus it's quiet and smart. Great for us. Best.

It makes one or two unique noises as it's starting, however once it starts then yes it is fairly quiet. Spin cycle is a typical noise level. I like mine and would buy it again.

Hi Jules, thanks for your interest in our product. Noise will vary on where the unit is installed as well as personal opinion. In general, the unit is relatively quiet but will become louder during it's spin cycle. Kind regards.
