Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job and does it well! Bought this unit to replace a bigger, supposedly 'better' Frigidaire machine, which crapped out after just one year. This LG unit runs much smoother and with far less noise. I'm happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unexpectedly impressed! Bought this a few weeks ago just in time for the hot weather. I'm using it to cool approx 600-700 sq foot main floor. Installation took about an hour but not overly difficult with the instructions provided. It cooled the main floor very well and was not overly loud when running but I can see how it might be too loud in a bedroom setting. The only unusual thing is the system sometimes cycles on and then immediately turns off within seconds of the start of the cycle. I'm assuming the thermostat registered it achieved the desired temperature setting so it shut down but still unusual and noticeable but definitely not a showstopper as it achieved its purpose to cools a room quickly and fairly quietly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buzzing noise - annoying sound the condenser causes a buzzing noise as soon as it goes on. it is very annoying. Tried to contact by chat. it is offline due to some technical difficulties. Talked on the phone, he said that he can't help since it is an internal problem and a technician should visit....is it free? it is BUT if he finds a problem with installation, you will be charged. How can I guarantee that I have installed with no mistake? to me, the installation is OK. I installed another make for a friend, Haier, and it has no buzzing noise just the fan noise. this is a not a professional customer service and this kind of support convinces me not to do a business with LG in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional AC I live in a one bedroom apartment about 500 square feet. I purchased two of these one in the living room & one in the bedroom. They easily cool down the entire apartment including the kitchen, closets & the washroom. Individually if I single handedly keep the one in the living room on for a longer duration it would easily cool down my entire apartment but would take sometime. A heads do not judge the AC the same day of installation, you need the brand new machine to run atleast a week for it to run at it's optimum condition. It works amazingly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well! I purchased this unit because it was the only one that would fit into the small bathroom window off my bedroom. The past few years I've had a larger unit in my living area, but sleeping was just way too uncomfortable in the heat, especially since I often have to sleep during the day. This little unit keeps my bedroom plenty cool even though it's in the connecting bathroom, so I can still use a blanket on the hottest of days and sleep comfortably!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great A/C !! The LG 6000 BTU A/C is a great air conditioner. I have it in an area that’s larger than the cooling capacity listed for this product and it still keeps everything nice and cool. On a week where we saw 110- 115 degree days with humidity, it kept my livingroom, diningroom, kitchen and front hallway ( which totals approximately 800sq ft) at 70 degrees. I’m very impressed. The only down side to this A/C is the vents for the cool air to blow out are on the top of the unit instead of the front face like most A/C’s Which made it a little more difficult to install in my condo window, which is a side sliding window not a double hung window like the manufacturer suggests this is ideal for. It also meant I had to buy one of the clear plastic covers that usually go over heat registers to direct the air flow out to the room, instead of up into my blinds which are hanging over the A/C, the cover fit perfectly on the A/C and this absolutely solved the issue and directs the cold air out into the living space and not up into my blinds. I purchased the air deflector from Home Depot. It’s the HDX Air deflector for $9.47 Here is the sku #Store SKU # 1000756682 It comes with little Velcro stickers to stick to the deflector and A/C it works great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from doesn't cool & H-D doesn't answer calls installed a week ago and doesn't cool; just an expensive fan. H-D too busy to pick up calls . not sure why they call it customer support

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fast. Decently quiet. But needs drip tube... Bought a few different brand units from HD and only kept this one. At $250 it's not cheap for a 6k BTU. However, it cools the entire ground floor (~750 SF) exceptionally well. Fan is quiet enough on Level 2 (3 is too loud). Set to 16 degrees and the floor is FREEZING within 20 minutes. My only grip is that the unit has a design flaw in that it is missing a drain tube. Condensation seems to be filling in the unit and keeps hitting the fan - splashing water everywhere. I keep a few towels nearby to mop up the mess. It would be great if this came with a drain tube that goes outside.

Hello, Does this unit support rain? If I install it on my window and it rains should I be concerned? If so do you have any advice to protect the AC against rain?

Asked by: Carl
No concerns about rain. My bedroom window where it’s installed faces west and gets driving rain. This is the second year we’ve had it and I admit I worried too at first.

Hello, I would like to ask you, is it okay to keep the AC installed on the window if it is raining? If not what would you suggest we do

Asked by: Carl
With the side 'sliders' on, we installed it with the window closing down tight to the sliders - so only the back end is actually outside - and there's no issue all summer long, rain or shine.

Can I use this A/C unit if I have a vertical window sliding sideways?

Asked by: AS14
Regrettably, this unit was designed to be installed in a window which opens vertically. If you have a horizontal sliding window with a width large enough to fit the A/C, you may be able to install it but the window installation kit will not be suffice to cover the remaining opening.

Do I need to remove my window screen in order to install this product?

Asked by: jfran777
Hi there, thanks for your interest in our product. It may vary depending on your window but in most cases yes, the screen needs to be removed as the air conditioner tends to stick outside the window. Kind regards.

Is this air conditioner supposed to drain the water as it runs? I can hear water in the unit swishing around. I do have it installed properly, and it’s on the correct angle.

Asked by: Benjamin
