Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little generator Unlike 2 others,I have had no problems, used a total of about 10 hours so far when camping and the remote starter is great for mornings to make coffee.Almost as quiet as Honda 2000. Long run time on tank of gas.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This Generator needs lots of improvement. It took 4 months to get it repaired still do not know where I can get parts for this model. Will not start and keep running when cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works just as good as the Honda This little but albit heavy generator works great within its capacity, sips gas,and doesn't keep you or the neighbors awake at night. Always starts easily with the key as long as you follow the directions. Prime 7X, choke on, turn key, choke off. I bought this unit after the East coast snow storm (Oct 2011) to be prepared for the next 3 plus day power outage. I did some research and found the Honda EU 2000 to be the best 2000 watt generator because of their light weight & very low fuel consumption, but they were around $1100 at the time. A bit more than I wanted to spend for something I might only need a few days a year. The Lifan was the next best as far as reviews went that I could find. It proved itself this Oct 2012 when Hurricane Sandy hit and we were out of power for 4 days. Luckily only 4. It's good on gas (reason i got a 2000W Gen) which comes in handy when the gas stations have insane lines. It ran all my family really needed. The blower for the gas furnace, the refrigerator, extra freezer, and a bunch of CFL lights. All while lasting about 8 hours at night w only the fridge, freezer & furnace cycling on & off. Plus it was very quiet. I couldn't hear it from inside my house at all. Don't hesitate to buy one to run "necessities" during a power outage

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't even bother I hooked up the battery, added the oil and gas per the instructions. It started up with the electric starter without a problem the very first time. I thought it was going to go well for a moment. Then I noticed how crazy loud it was and that it was running at full speed even though the economy switch was on. All attempts to get it to work on economy failed. While it was screaming full blast, the low oil light blinked on and the unit died. Just before it completely stopped, the light went out and it revved back up. It did this several times so I stopped the unit and checked the oil. It was perfect. So I tried to start it again, and the electric start no longer worked. So I pull started it with the same crazy loud, high speed, oil light flashing, engine dying results as before only this time I also noticed that the circuit breaker was tripped and would not reset. So not only is this thing going through all of this craziness, but it isnt even doing the one thing it is designed to do, PRODUCE 110V! I called the number in the Lifen book that came with it and left 3 messages for "Dan" who apparently was always "on the other line and will call you back as soon as he is done". After 3 weeks of phone calls, leaving messages and not getting a reply, I drained the fluids, disconnected the battery, boxed it up and returned it to Home Depot for a full refund.
