Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install once you get the knack We love the product and the look we achieved in two bedrooms. The product is easy to install, although the first few long joints were not to my satisfaction (very small gaps ~1/32 inch). These gaps could not be eliminated by hammering the tiles together (with a wooden block) but through trial and error I discovered these gaps can be eliminated by pressing very firmly when first inserting the next tile (at an angle) while lowering the tile to the floor. Once I discovered that trick, the installation was simple and easy. The resulting floor looks spectacular. We are very pleased with the result.

Used it to cover some old hard wood in the kitchen and loved it cause it saved me doing a tear out as I just layer it right over it. Lot of people complaining about a funky smell but that's just the manufacturing smell from any vinyl floor. It goes away so don't let that deter you from this great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful floor, easy installation Bought to install in basement. It was the first time using this product. I dry fit planks to ensure that planks along two long edges were balanced and that transitions were appropriately addressed. The first two rows took about 2 hours to lay out and figure out spacing and to get the hang of the installation. After that, things moved very well. I completed approx 350 sq ft on my own in about 12 hours but that included learning how to use a chop saw, an oscillating multi tool and making multiple measurements. By the end of the floor installation, cutting around door jambs was more efficient as well as cutting and fitting end pieces. Next time, installation time (1 person) would likely be reduced by approx 25%. Highly recommend purchasing the tapping block available at HD for this project as well as knee pads; these made the job a lot easier. The look of this floor is fantastic, it's warm and cushioned and super easy to keep clean. It is also difficult to damage once installed. Be careful not to crush corners of planks when unpacking and moving. Excellent product! No defects found in planks. Nice variety in colouring. Watched a couple diy videos on YouTube to learn installation tips and tricks. Great for the beginner handyperson! I highly recommend LifeProof! So glad we purchased this - it really updates the basement and makes the Rec room and laundry/workshop nice spaces to enjoy. :)

In the specs it says there are 9 planks per case but there are 3 plank sizes and it doesn't say how many of each size comes in the case. You should supply that information in the ad page. I'm guessing that it's 3 of each plank size? Is that correct?

I believe there is four of each. In my opinion keeping all widths together length wise looks the best.

I'm wondering if I have to put the transition pieces between rooms even though I'm putting this floor all over my main floor? The floors are leveled

It is personally preference. Some contractors say that the long lines of the material should head towards windows or doors in a room. If this way the case in my house I would have to transition at every room from the hall. I'm going straight from the living room, down the hall and build into each room horizontally. The only transition i will have is at the bathroom where i will be using tile.

Can this floor be installed directly over a concrete floor?

Thank you for question- Yes- CONCRETE SUBFLOORS • High spots can be removed by grinding; depressions can be filled with patching compound formulated for use in floor installation. • Cure for at least 90 days (applies to newly-laid concrete slabs). • Can be either sealed or unsealed. • Between 7 and 9 alkalinity when performing pH test (ASTM F710). • Moisture content should meet one of the following criteria: • 4% max. when tested using Tramex Concrete Moisture Encounter. • Less than 8 pounds per 1000 sq. ft. per 24 hours MVER (Moisture Vapor Emission Rating) when using Calcium Chloride test (ASTM F1869). • 85% max. when performing Relative Humidity Testing (ASTM F2170).

I have 2 steps that go down to the back door landing that is currently vinyl sheeting flooring. Can this product be installed on these steps? Can it be installed over top of old vinyl sheet floor?
