Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tile install easy and looks great Easy to install and looks great. If you need to take it out and reinstall, be careful as it easily breaks the joints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flooring. We bought it on line from the picture we saw. It looks a lot blacker in the picture, but when we picked it up it has more grey in it. Which was perfect for where we wanted it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Scratches easily I bought this instead of using tile or wood for my kitchen thinking it would be durable. Just moving the fridge which is on wheels and never scratched the former "sticky tile" floor left scratches as did the stove. I am trying to protect it by putting felt on everything but was not expecting to have to do this on a "lifeproof" floor because I am now afraid to move a chair. It looks fine and installs easily but it wasn't particularly cheap and didn't make it 24 hours without getting damaged. I don't recommend for this reason.

I usually stagger laminate and hardwood when I install to have better stability and avoid the look of a line cutting across. Do these need to be staggered when installing and if so, at which measurement?

Asked by: Deb55
Hello, I bought this product and installed it in my front entrance. I did not stagger the pieces and everything turned out just fine. I have not had any problems with my front entrance.

How many tiles are in a case?

Asked by: Kellan
Each box is 24sq ft, as listed on the box. Inside is a variety of sizes so that you get a broken up pattern. You can follow any one of 3 or 4 patterns they show you in the instructions or you can just wing it. I've laid over 1200sqf of the flooring and it all looks great. Just note 2 things: 1) they suggest scoring and snapping with a knife. This is insane. You will cut yourself before you are done. Especially for harder cuts that wrap around something like a door jam or a corner. I suggest that you use a jobsite table saw with no fence. 2) the pieces are designed to snap together and when they do, the seam is perfect. However, the tolerances are much higher than with similar snap down laminate hardwoods and so it's really easy to not perfectly snap in a piece. Use a scrap of flooring to line up with the groove on the edge of the tile you're installing and use a wood block and a hammer to hammer that piece into place on both the long and short end to ensure both seams are snug and tight. If you can't get a tile to snap in, replace it and / or look for debris in the rail. If you take your time in the install, this floor is gorgeous. Very happy with it but it took me about 2x longer to install than I was expecting as my experience prior was with 11-13mm snap down laminates and this is far, far more finicky to get each piece right. Good luck.

I had to remove a few tiles in order them down for a floor transition piece. These pieces were installed first. I can'y get them back into place now. I don't want to remove everything and start again. Any tips on getting these pieces back in?

The flooring rep insisted that I can install this flooring across my small kitchen and then install cabinets on top without worry of the standard expansion/contraction requirements for install. Are my appliances, base cabinets ok to go on top?

Asked by: Tuck9
Thanks for your question. I'm so glad you asked before installing! You must install your cabinets before installing the Lifeproof tile because the boxy bases (and eventual weight of the cabinet, counter top, and contents) will bind the planks down and prevent proper expansion and contraction. The tiles require a 1/4" expansion around the perimeter of the room and around any fixed object such as cabinet, vanities, support beams, etc. You can install the appliances on the tile because the appliances have legs/casters that will evenly distribute their weight. Please call us if you have any other questions. (866) 843-8453

Can you put in floor heating underneath this product on top of old vinyl flooring and wire 220? Which under floor heating pad would you recommend for a bathroom 3ft 10 ft

Asked by: Dave
Thank you for your question-No, you can not Radiant heat must be cast 1/2 inch the substrate. IN-FLOOR RADIANT HEAT This product can be installed over radiant heat concrete subfloors. Consult with the radiant heat system manufacturer to ensure that the system is compatible with vinyl flooring. • Electric and hydro systems are acceptable. • In-floor radiant components must be a minimum of ½" (13mm) below flooring. • Floor surface temperature should never exceed 85°F (29°C). • Heating system should be operational for at least two weeks prior to installation to calibrate temperature settings. • Flooring cannot be laid directly over radiant heating mats.
