Overview

Model # KH513 Store SKU # 1000173423

A great choice for the welding of heat-treatable base alloys. It has a low melting point and excellent fluidity. This wire is preferred by welders because of its favorable operating characteristics. This wire is less sensitive to weld cracking and is suitable for sustained elevated temperature service, i.e. above 150 degrees F.

  1. Use for welding aluminum
  1. Low melting point and excellent fluidity
  1. Less sensitive to weld cracking
  1. TIP: Use 100% argon gas when welding Aluminum for the best results

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job The wire was of excellent quality. The bad con to it was, very pricey for what your getting. I later turned around and bought the same wire from my local welding supply house, for almost half the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I do not use this wire the way it is... I do not use this wire the way it is intended, I use it in my sculptures so I base my review on that point. The wire performs in an excellent manner in the way I use it. It is stiff enough (hardened wire) without being too unforgiving when I use it. It can be brittle, but with care, I can manipulate to stand as it should.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great for me This alu+silicon wire is designed for use in MIG welding, but I needed it as a structural element - a thin rigid wire that keeps its shape well, but has minimal elasticity (bounce), Met all my expectations.

is there any flux cored aluminium wire for gasless welding with weldpak 125 hd or similar one

Asked by: andy
No. Ive been welding for 25yrs and never even heard of such a thing. All aluminum must be shielded with an inert gas such as argon or helium to shield the weld from the surrounding atmoshere. Unless your stick welding or in some cases like brazing it with a torch rig which is rare and only used on thin aluminum. And the stick welding produces usually ugly welds also.

Asked by: Rango
You will need 100% argon gas.

When welding aluminum is argon carbon dioxide OK

Asked by: Meme
You want/need pure argon for alloys. Especially aluminum. Unless you are using a DC tig machine, you can use pure helium.

So would this be required to be used with a spool gun ? Or does a regular mig gun work with this ?

Asked by: Manny
A spool gun is needed for E4043. E5356 can be used in a regular gun. Use .030 wire with a .035 contact tip. This is because the rollers in the drive feed deform the wire slighty. Wire feed speed is 350 to 475, 15 to 20V. Hth
