How much room is required above window to fit the bracket for the outside mount option?

Dear Lindsay. We normally recommend 2 inches on each side of the window. If you buy a 39" width, it will be fit a window width of 35" if mounted outside the window frame.

I have a window which measures 25.5” on the inside of the window frame.   Would a 23” work for this size window?

Dear Barbara. Unfortunately, the 23" would be too small. You would need at least a 25" width which we unfortunatley don't sell.

I’m interested in this for my outside gazebo.  Is the material detachable for washing?  Or can I make it so I can Velcro it to whatever it’s attached to?

Dear Mimi. Unfortunatley, due to the cordless design and operating system, you can't just detach the fabric. Nor can you wash it.

Can I make it shorter?

Hi Paulette, Unfortunately we don't recommend cutting down any of our Lumi Roman Shades. The spring-loaded cordless operating system is calibrated for the type and weight of the fabric used. They are not designed to be shortened so we don’t advise it.
