Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work great, I'll be buying more. I have an older house and most of the wall switches do not have a neutral wire which in the past was a requirement for smart switches. However a neutral wire is not required with these so I installed them all over the house. I've had them about two months now and they work flawlessly. Although it's a little more work to install smart switches instead of smart bulbs they work much more reliably if you share your house with someone who would rather control the lights from the wall switch instead of an app. (Smart bulbs only work properly if you leave the light switches in the on position.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value This is better value versus buying the dimmer and pico remote separately. This is a great solution if your replacing 2 light switches that control a single light. Just buy the pico remote wall mount and it is as if you have two wall switches. These dimmers have the tendency to make low watt LED lights strobe or flicker unless you put a dummy load or a Lutron dummy load that I had to buy separately just to keep the lights stable. This is a common problem for these types of dimmers being used for low watt led lights.

I have been an enthusiastic user of home automation systems for 30 years since one had to write software and do their own integrations. I have now standardised my house on caseta for all light switching and could not be happier. It is reliable and integrates with other systems by using the available bridge. It supports scenes and schedules. My only wish is that they allowed third party implementations of caseta devices which would encourage innovation and price competition.

This is a very helpful switch when you need a three (or four or five...) way but don't want to fight with rewiring an existing switch. It is easy to install, looks good and works well. We don't use the dimmer function as it is more the wireless three way feature we were looking for but it does dim efficiently and even saves your preferences. We bought an additional remote so the lights can be controlled from three different locations and is a big improvement over having only one switch controlling a large area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solved double switch issue Our basement ceiling light was on a single switch from the top of the stairs, so mounting the remote on the wall at the bottom of the stairs gave us the double switch access. We had one small issue at first because of lightbulb incompatibility with the switch. Be sure to follow the manufacturers guidelines for the correct brand of lightbulbs and the switch and dimmer feature will work great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Convenient Switch Not Technically Challenging Here's why! Your current switch doesn't need a 3rd wire which most times with 2 switches it's a must. For example, in my case I had a light at my barn with the switch inside the building. The light was outside and was needed at night to light up the yard to safely walk to the barn. The problem obviously was walking in the dark then turning the light on and we can read into the uselessness of its function. With this switch I replaced the switch easy with the 2 wires currently there. Turn the power on, the switch syncs and powers on. Next you hold the bottom (off) button for 6 seconds then hold the bottom button on the remote (pico) switch and it pairs. I mounted the remote inside my house with the included 3M tape plate at the rear door which is roughly 60 feet and 2 exterior walls away and it works flawless plus I can dim the lights BONUS. This is just one example of what you can expect and to make it better if you need another switch to control the lights you need just purchase another Pico remote (sold separately) hold the bottom button down on each... Done.

Can I sync a second Pico remote to the same wall switch? In other words, can I control my basement lights from upstairs and from the basement with a separate remote? Thanks!

Yup. Keep in mind you can also control with your phone and/or your voice assistant (Alexa/Google/Siri/Cortana(?)) if you don’t want to buy another Pico. You could also put in a motion sensor to work with the lights to do it automatically.

I'm wondering if I have to have Internet to use these? I have a cabin that i would like to control one switch from 3 locations inside the cabin. How ever the cabin is in a very remote location and there isn't any internet service there.

I want to replace my livingroom light controlled by a 3 way switch, do i have to buy 2 switches to complete the setup or can i use only one switch along with the existing toggle switch?

You do not have to buy 2, but you will no longer be able to use the analog (toggle) switch. One of the toggled switches should be swapped out for the wired Casetta dimmer switch. The other toggled switch should have all its wires tied together and sealed off. You will replace this switch with the wireless Pico remote switch, which you can either affix to the wall (using the wall mounting piece) in place of the old toggle, or keep as a wireless remote (and cover up the hole from the old toggle switch for safety).

What would I need to buy to replace my dimmer switch on an existing 3 switch panel in K? (1 dimmer, 1 on/off, 1 on/off two way). Want to remotely control all 3 with google nest mini or hub. Also want to remotely control blinds & nest thermostat in LR?

For this 3-gang wallbox, Lutron would recommend the PD-6WCL for the 1 dimmer, the PD-6ANS for the 1 on/off, and the PD-6ANS for the on/off 3-way (two switching locations). In order to use Google with the Caseta system, you will need the Caseta Smart Bridge. Thinking to start with purchased 1 wifi Lutron dimmer, does having and working of Lutron app on smart device (I’m not looking for integration with Google hub immediately) needs Lutron Wifi smart bridge?

The P-PKG1W-WH-R-C comes with the PD-6WCL and Pico Remote (PJ2-3BRL-GWH-L01). The PD-6WCL and Pico remote can pair directly in stand-alone or pair together when activated to a Lutron Smart Bridge (L-BDG2-WH-C) via the Lutron app. In order to utilize the Lutron app's features, the Lutron Smart Bridge is required.
