Rated 3 out of 5 by from Maximum dimmer position does not give 100% light I just installed three of these dimmers. They are ok with the exception of one little problem: when the dimmer is on its top position to allow maximum light, it does not allow 100% of the current, so the light bulbs do not go 100% bright. We did not need to put any device to measure this because it is noticeable at bare eye. I just changed a 3-way one and a2-way one in the kitchen in the first floor and my wife noticed this issue right away. I installed a second one in the washroom upstairs and my son noticed too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great low dimming range! I installed four of these dimmers in my apartment. I use them to dim the lights after dusk (as recommended by sleep researchers to improve the quality of sleep). One of the dimmers is on a bare 100W bulb in a closet in my bedroom. For this one I adjusted the trim right down to the minimum dimming level. When I turn it on at minimum dimming I can only see the filament in the bulb glowing orange. At night it is just barely enough light to see what I am doing in the closet or in the small amount of light cast into the bedroom. But not enough to read anything or differentiate colors. It accomplishes exactly what I wanted. A couple of minor negatives though. The screw holes for the face plate are tapped into the aluminum cooling fins. I ended up stripping the threads in one of the holes. That was a pain. The other problem is one of the switches doesn't slide smoothly. It could be that I got a bit of drywall dust on it which is now interfering with the slider, but who knows.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dimmer This was so easy to install took me 5 minutes to wire up. If needed there is a great how to video in the instructions. The maximum dim control is a great option because you can set it so it will only go as low as you want or all the way dim. You have to set this option before you put the wall plate back on. The slider will work but it will only dim as far as you set it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dimmer - simple functional design This is a solid dimmer. I like this design because the lever to adjust the light is a nice size, and you can see from across the room what it is set at (the other designed have a tiny lever on the side. Lutron dimmers are always easy to install as they come with good instructions and there are lots of videos available online. Would recommend.

I recently had led lights installed in my living room, when I dim them 50% I hear buzzing , will this dimmer fix that problem or I need ELV dimmer ? Thanks

Asked by: Tazz
The simple question - were the LED lights that you bought dimmable as many are not dimmable.

Install was easy. But when I put dimmer on its lowest setting, then later turn switch off it does not turn light back on to my last setting. I have to slide dimmer up and then back down again. It remembers brighter settings but not lowest setting.

Asked by: Bobbs
I'm afraid I don't know why that would happen. Whatever setting I turn my dimmer off at (using the switch) is where it is when I turn the switch back on. I had an electrician install the dimmer and two light fixtures. I think you should phone Home Depot to ask them, write to the manufacturer of the dimmer, or ask an electrician.

What is the minimum load on the circuit for the dimmer to operate?

Asked by: Clark
You didn't specify whether you have an incandescent, halogen or LED load. I can tell you that with an LED load which I use these on, it is possible to adjust the "bottom end" to slightly above 0.2 amps and still have light when you switch back on (.2 x120= 24W total load). I would imagine that you could go even lower but this is what load I have on mine.

Hello which led bulbs can are compatible with  this dimmer switch ?

Asked by: Luciano
Hello Ralph! Currently, there's no industry standard or regulation for manufacturing LEDs, which is why performance varies with dimming controls. That's why we extensively test a variety of LEDs from many different manufacturers and offer a mobile-friendly web tool to help you select bulbs that provide the best dimming performance with your Lutron dimmers. To access the tool, please visit lutron.com/ledfinder. If you have additional questions, please reach out to our Support Team at support@lutron.com or give us a call at 1-844-LUTRON1."

Is it possible to use 2 such dimmers in a single 3 way group?

Asked by: Alex
Lutron does not recommend using two CTCL-153P dimmers on a 3-way lighting circui.t This will cause performance issues with the controls and lighting. One location must remain a standard 3-way mechanical on/off switch when using this dimmer. Instead, Lutron would recommend using the MACL-153M and companion dimmer MA-R for multi-location dimming.

Does this dimmer work on ungrounded (2 wire) circuit?

Asked by: Navis
Hello Navis. Great question about the Skylark LED+ Dimmer - according to the installation guide, this dimmer can be installed where there is no grounding point, however, it is required by the NEC that you use a plastic faceplate with plastic fasteners (such as the Claro wallplate) or on a circuit that uses a GFCI. Here is the install guide where you can find this information under Important Notes: https://assets.lutron.com/a/documents/0301882.pdf We hope this helps! If you have additional questions or concerns, we're happy to help. Please reach out to our Technical Support team at support@lutron.com, or call us 1-844-LUTRON1.
