Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good with Workaround for Tightly Fitting Vinyl I bought this as a replacement. The vinyl strip had torn after about ten years. I was hoping to just use the vinyl strip and keep the existing aluminum to save cutting and redrilling holes. Like the other reviews, I could not pull on the vinyl strip. It is a very tight fit. To solve my problem I used the new aluminum and did the following. I created a small point on the starting bead using small wire cutters. I lubricated the aluminum slot with a small amount of dish soap and water. It then only took about 30 seconds to pull on the vinyl. I then cut the piece to size and drilled new starter holes. Only 4 stars because the vinyl should have been installed at the factory.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design In the past when I have purchased this Low profile door bottom threshold seal the seal is already in place. Its just a matter then of cutting it to size and screwing down the the threshold. Not today, the seal came separately making it extremely difficult to slide into the metal holder, even with lubricant. Pulling on the vinyl seal into the groove only ruined it. Why can it not be supplied from M D with the vinyl seal already in place like it used to be?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Great Disappointment Purchased this, assuming its quality would match an almost identical product I've used for many years. It was quickly apparent there were significant differences. As mentioned by others, it is very difficult (or should I say almost impossible) to slide the rubber seal into the aluminum strip. I tried using Vaseline on both surfaces, but could only pull about 10 inches. This is in stark contrast to the other product, which slides very easily with a lubricant.
