The MD Building Products 16 ft. Aluminum and Vinyl Garage Door Bottom features an aluminum base that attaches to a garage door with included screws. The aluminum base holds a vinyl seal designed to close the gap at the bottom of your garage door to prevent drafts, dirt, insects and rain from entering. Door bottom stays flexible in extremely cold temperatures.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It is okay Installed on my 1 3/8" garage door. They really short you on screws so be sure to have some self taping screws because 2 per section is not near enough. You will also need some caulking to seal up the gap between the track and the door. It is slow going installing the seal with a screw driver after you slide the one side in but it can be done over the course of a beer. Now not sure it is a fault of the seal but doesn't actual seal my garage door well and I still have gaps (note that could be from the floor being unlevel) but it was not an improvement over my old seal I had installed

My garage door is on tracks, so I thought it might be difficult to install the last four feet of rubber weather stripping. It turned out to be really easy and took about 10 minutes following the included directions. The included self-drilling screws worked great. I will recommend to make sure you get a hex drill bit for the screws at the store if you don't already have one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Packaging causes permanent damage It's packaged as two aluminum pieces with the flexible seal wrapped around them lengthwise. Where the seal folds around the ends it is permanently crushed and deformed. The worst damage is in the centre. So the seal installs easily enough up to half way, then the damaged areas bulge into the track and prevent it being pulled through. So you need to cut it into two pieces to remove the damaged area, and install it with a cut in the middle - not waterproof. Also the label says screws are included but there are no screws in the package, so you need to supply your own.

Does the aluminum base come as a single 16ft piece or does it come in sections? (My concern is the vehicle required to transport the base if it's a single 16ft long piece)

The width of the track is 1-5/8" My garage door thickness is 1-1/8" Is the steel track still usable, although wider than the door thickness?? Thanks for the help
