Rated 4 out of 5 by from good price for average product installation wasn't too hard, the included screws are hex head instead of philips or robertson, this makes installation harder because you are installing the screws upside down. The track is not predrilled which is good so you can customize where your screws need to go, There is a center groove to aid. My main complaint is also the packaging, the seal should be rolled up instead of folded which deforms the profile and makes is harder to install. Also the seal is vinyl, not EPDM rubber like the better seals available. When this seal wears out i will be replacing it the Bowsen U+O EDPM rubber seal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install, seems good so far I just installed this on the weekend. The install was super simple (not sure what others are talking about), other than one thing. This (and all like it it seems) assumes the bottom of your garage door is flat and will accept the aluminum rail. My door is not flat, and it has a lip on one side. I shimed it up with wood then screwed the plate into the newly flattened door bottom, but I had to figure that out on my own. The comments about not being able to get the seal in because of the track in the way are just not thinking about it. Just adjust the door so its in a position you can reach it through the side. Overall pretty easy to install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product I bought this weatherstrip to replace the worn one on my garage door. I like that it's an aluminium rail, the one I replaced was plastic and brittle. The supplied screws were way too short for my door but had some 1-1/4 metal screws already which were perfect length... it's still cool that they gave screws with the rail. Installing the weatherstrip in the rail was the "hard" part since I did it on my own which required many back and forth to feed it in and pull it through; if you have someone to assist in the process it should be a breeze.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Premium Garage Door Seal I was looking for a quality replacement bottom seal for my 2 garage doors. The 9-ft premium seal package from Home Depot was perfect. The 2 kits had everything I needed for a good installation. I am pleased to report that the vinyl seal fit easily into the grooved aluminum rail and the doors sealed very well. I would also note that the new seals did not stick/freeze to the cement floor during cold weather. The product provided a clean finished look to my doors. I would recommend.

I have a wooden garage door, its 8 feet wide, 1 1/2 inches thick and gap to the floor about inch and 1/2. Does this product fit, as the specs dont make sense. I dont want the track sticking out too much for the thickness of the door

Our bay door here was 1.5 inches thick and this worked well. Where you might need to be concerned is with that gap. I cannot confirm since our door guys replaced this seal after a door spring failure, but I'm not sure this seal will fill a 1.5 inch gap sufficiently.

what is the width of the aluminum base?

It is 1.5 inches. It was a little wide for my door but I centered it and put a bead of calking along the exposed lip to prevent water getting between the base and bottom of the door.

Would this work on a tilt up garage door

Not 100% sure if it will, but can't see why not. It's a small piece of aluminum with a flexible rubber strip. You might just have to adjust your door setting to accommodate the stopping distance.

Do you have to remove door to install? How would you slide in the vinyl?

Dear Home Depot Canada customer, The door does not have to be removed to install the weather-stripping, and the vinyl piece is a simple insert that fits into the aluminum base. Simply open the door partway so that you can access its underside, screw in the base, and then attach the vinyl insert.
