Rated 1 out of 5 by from Flimsy, needs extra bottom support I bought and installed this tub following all instructions. After tile was in and everything was finished, I noticed the tub was squeaky and seemed to be flexing when putting weight on certain back parts of the tub. Im 190 lbs. The tub is so flimsy that the two back support legs are not enough to support weight evenly once installed. I had to cut an opening in the closet and spray foam all under the tub to firm it up. And yes, It was level on installation and everything was plumb and secure. Im just lucky i was able to spray foam into the cavity underneath to fix it. It would have been a nightmare to pull out otherwise.

The problem was that it wasn't until removing the old tub that I was able to get an accurate measurement of the space which is the width of my bathroom at the studs. The Maax tub is 1/2 inch shorter which ultimately makes tile install a challenge. Still, I love the tub but caution to ensure you can either remove your old tub to get an accurate measurement before you buy or that you can make your alcove smaller.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap tub, bad design risks of cracking. Not a good quality tub. The reinforced OSB board cracked after 4 days after installing it resulting in a glass shattering cracking sound every time I stepped in the drain section. After some research and discussing with my contractor who has installed many Maax tubs we concluded that the design of this model is well just plain old cheap. The bottom has very poor reinforment. To make things worse I went back to the store and looked at three more Bosca tubs out of the package all of them had inconsistencies in the acrylic and fibreglass coatings. So no matter what you are making a bad gamble when you buy this tub. I looked at different Maax acrylic and fibreglass tubs and all of them had a lot of variance in the coatings. The quality control at the factory must not be the greatest. That being said I recommend you spend a little more and buy their Nomad model that is if you are going to buy one of their tubs. It is a far sturdier design and has virtually no concerning flexing at the bottom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bosca 60" x 30" AFR Love this tub, beautiful, the best. Nice and deep (i'm 6'2") for when i want to soak. If properly installed it is sturdy and has no flex. Has clean lines and modern look. Used the AFR as I live in a condo and the floors are concrete, this made the installation far easier for the plumbers.

So glad it was, this tub was an extra $ 200 and so worth it. It's deep has a nice back rest and is a bit narrower so you need less water.

How is this for lumbar comfort? It looks very straight up and down, and like there is not much angle to the back of the tub to actually lay back and relax?

What is the actual water depth? Saw different numbers in the comments.

It's between 13.5 - 14 inches to bottom of overflow drain. But if you have an overflow cover you can flip around (point opening upwards) then you could take a bath at around ~16 inches (about ~1 inch below top of tub).

What is the interior soaking depth? As in the inside the tub depth from the drain to the bottom of the overflow? I have found a couple different numbers looking online

I just measured about 13.5” deep from drain to the bottom of overflow. The bottom curves towards the drain so you need to eyeball it a little which may explain the different reports.  Two other things I want to point out though. Regular silicon wont stick to this tub due to its very slippery surface. I had to remove it all after it starting separating and reapply using an acrylic caulk. Huge pain and even this seems to be struggling. Also, the tub flexes a bit. It was blocked well from below during install, but it creaks and flexes when you climb in. Feels a bit cheep to me. After the amount I spent on the entire bathroom reno, another few hundred bucks for a higher quality tub would have been worth it. It’s a major point of contact so I’m constantly reminded of it. Depth is great though. You can get a good deep soak going.

The threshold where the door will sit is 3-1/8" wide. Does this tub come with the drainage accessories I.e over flow valve and, drain? if not what is the appropriate one to get Length wise ?

This bath tube didn’t come with any drainage accessories. I went to a plumbing store in my area and inquired about the appropriate drainage accessory. They recommended not going with max cable operated and overflow part because when the tine arises when it need to be replaced, there can be issues. I can’t remember what the issue was specifically but i would suggest asking a plumber.  I ended purchasing drainage kit and cutting it to the appropriate size. . This bathtub is a wonderful choice
