Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these doors! Bought these doors on line and the transaction was seamless. FREE shipping to my place was a bonus. After checking this item out at the local Home Depot, I decided to purchase these doors online. For a guy that has trouble nailing 2 boards together, I was just about to have someone install them for me, then thought, let's try installing this myself. SOOOOOOO glad I did as the install was done in about 4 hours and it looks great! I just took my time and followed the instruction manual. Couldn't be happier. Money well spent upgrading my ensuite and will probably realize triple that or more when I sell next year. A++++++++

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great Looks great and was easy to install for me that I have barely done any Reno work in my life. The only difficult part was to drill through porcelain walls in bathroom. I tried masonry bits, then the Bosch bits designed for ceramics none worked. Then bought diamond bits for porcelain and it worked. I wish the installation instruction manual had a page to explain what kind of bits are good for the different wall materials often used in bathrooms. In general the door is great and instructions for installation not very good. There is a video for installation that I suggest you watch that. And know the wall material in your bathroom.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good looking well made product. The manufacturer has to redo the instruction booklet. Or send along a $2 DVD. Afterall we just spent a bundle on these Maxx products for our bathroom reno. The pictures in the manual did not clarify which side of the shower enclosure they applied to. Some pictures were the same for both left and right side which is incorrect. As a result we mounted the track closest to the shower head incorrectly and there are now extra holes in our enclosure. After spending a decent amount of money on the Maxx enclosure and doors we were disappointed in the end result. We followed the instructions as best we could with two sets of eyes and came out with a negative end result. Have done many other renovations and installs in the past sucessfully just not this one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from We bought this product and because it looked okay from the pictures. Finished product looks okay however installing it was a chore. The instructions were not clear enough and would have made all the difference in the world was to say make sure the inside door has to be closest to the shower head. The next item was about the double stud which I did install before tiling however you screws were not long enough to go into the studs. Had to supply my own. The next item is the self tapping screw is too short to connect to the beam. Also not sure about most parts are chrome plated plastic. Not happy with this product!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ‘2’ for Install, ‘5’ for looks Watch the installation video (but don’t be fooled by how ‘easy’ this appears). Read the instructions VERY carefully and be prepared to figure things out, there is a fair amount of important TIPS missing. If you’re like me make sure you have a supply of longer stainless wood screws available (installing on a preformed one piece fibreglass surround) what is supplied is inadequate at best. This project is best done by a professional or someone with a whole lot of DIY experience

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality Product... Fuzzy Install Instructions By the time I was finished, this was a great looking shower door, however you really need to take your time installing this. I'm a DIY guy and on my seventh home reno. I'm comfortable with projects like this but I have to say that there are sections of the installation guide that are not clear, and some that contain tiny subtleties that are easy to overlook. Go slow and double-check the details. Pretty much a one-person project... until you get to installing the glass doors. These puppies are HEAVY! Looks great when done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works and fits perfectly Replaced shower curtain and what a difference. Makes bathroom look so much bigger and there is no splash. I would recommend a professional for installation - only a few hundred dollars and NO frustrations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Maax Customer Service is difficult. I called Maax to ask for replacement set screws that hold the tiny square decorative piece on the outside of the towel bar as the ones that came in the box didn't fit and two were broken. Maax was very difficult to deal with. Almost deliberately obtuse about what I needed. This experience has soured me on buying another Maax product.

The instructions state "The inside glass panel has to be installed on the same side of the drain and the shower head" Why is this? I need to install the outside glass panel, used to enter/exit the shower, on the same side as the drain. Can this be done?

Asked by: BigAl
The inside glass panel has to be installed on the same side of the drain and the shower head so you can open the outside panel glass on the opposite side to get in and out the shower. This works best. It keeps floor dry and you can test the water temperature I've had the door a few years and am happy with the product.

This item says it is for openings 70.5" to 74" in height. I have at 72.5" opening. I read install instructions but fail to see how this is possible to fit my 72.5" opening if glass is 74" tall.

Asked by: Bizee
Dear Bizee, 70.5" is the wall height required to install the side wall jambs and that will be the height location for the top rail also but the two glass panels go above the top rail by 3.5" to reach 74" in total height so your total height from the top of the step of the base to the ceiling must be slightly more than 74"..by you having a total height of 72" this door will not fit, Thank You

We have a small bathroom that we are renovating and the width is 59” wall to wall but we still need to install the concrete board and tile. We will likely only have 56” ~57” wide once everything is prepped. Can this shower be adjusted to fit?

Asked by: Veda
Yes, the framing (upper and lower tracks) can be cut to fit a smaller opening but bear in mind that the opening to get in and out of the shower will be slightly smaller as the size of the glass panels is fixed. I installed mine with a 58" opening and the entry in and out of the shower is ample. Hopes this helps

Does this shower door fit on a shower base. not tube. it states its 70.25 height.

Asked by: Trish
We did not use a shower acrylic base. It was installed over porcelain tile. The chrome base track was screwed and caulked to the tile. We're very pleased with this shower door and have used it daily for almost a year. The installer preferred it over the one he installed in his own home.

I'm trying to replace an old framed shower door with a width of 42.75 inches. If I couldn't fit this door in, is it possible to trim the metal track so that I can make it a bit narrower?

Asked by: eagle_joy
Yes the track can be cut with the use of a hacksaw. However, your walk-through opening will be smaller as well.
