A wide variety of sizes as well as three models are available for your convenience: Single-View with one mirror, Bi-View with two mirrors, and Tri-View with three mirrors.   1. This MAAX ELEMENT medicine cabinet has a 36-inch width by 31-inch height with a 5-inch depth, has three pivoting panels and a classic 1/2-inch beveled edge and polished chrome base.
  1. All MAAX medicine cabinets are made of anodized aluminum, which provides great robustness. This feature gives you a cabinet that resists corrosion and will keep a smooth finish for many years.
  1. MAAX Slide Edge technology makes it easy to adjust shelves. This patented innovation lets you choose the height you need for the shelves while having a smooth surface that does'nt accumulate dust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product made in Canada. Quality Canadian made product. I was going to take away a star but the fault is with Home Depot not the manufacturer. Be aware the Home Depot product description is wrong. It dId not come with Smove mechanical soft closers. It uses soft rubber shock absorbing strips instead. For the correct description of the TV3631 check the Maax website before.ordering.

is assembly required? Does this really weigh 83 lbs - and if so, why is it so heavy?

Yes. Its heavy, due to mirrors both sides of the doors as well as inside of cabinet. We were lucky as the box was damaged upon receiving, but packaging was enough to protect it. Yes there is some assembly, I  had no problems. Shelves are not that great, slip with too much weight, but its a beautiful cabinet.

Is it a tri-view mirror system, where you can adjust the side mirrors to see the back of your head? Thanks!

Yes it is a tri-reflective mirror but the two side mirror doors don’t always stay where you need them to stay to work with a curling iron and view the back of your head at the same time.  They move slightly after you take your hand off them.

How are the doors opened? Our old (also mirrored tri-view type) medicine cabinet has pull tabs at the bottom of the mirrors/doors. Is there some type of finger grip at the bottom of the doors to make it easy to open them?

Will the 36" X 30" fit in a 35 1/2" X 29 1/2" cutout for recessed installation? I want to replace a cabinet BUT the existing cutout is 35 1/2" X 29 1/2" and tile come right to the edges so I can't make it any bigger.

If you click on the link for the installation manual on the right side of the page, there is a chart on page 4 that will advise on the requirements for the wall opening if you are doing a recessed installation. For the 36" x 31" model size, the wall opening requirements from the installation manual are listed as 34-3/8” X 29-3/8” X 3-7/8”.
