Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product but instructions could be better Installed this door over 2 days (to allow time for some of the silicone caulk to cure, as it holds things in place). The instructions were like trying to read the Dead Sea Scrolls, covering installation of 3 different models - all jumbled together. Useful tips: Center the door guide (part no. 4) on the lip of the tub and then use its position to figure out where the fixed panel will be mounted to the wall. Also , steps 5 and 6 should be reversed, since it will be nearly impossible to drill the holes required in step 6 after the fixed panel has been installed in step 5. The installed door works great and looks very classy. If only the manufacturer could make installation easier by providing instructions specifically for the tub model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great quality product but hideous instructions Love the quality but you may as well not look at the instructions. ...they are more confusing than informative. You will need above average skills to properly install this product. It took me 6 hours because I followed the instructions. .would have taken less if I just did it without. Very disappointed that for such an expensive door they used generalized instructions which apply to over the tub..or no tub..or angled..instead of separate instructions for each. Otherwise very nice quality and look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Halo Big Roller Shower & Tub Doors Review Love the Halo Big Roller System. The are pretty easy to install althought I would NOT recommend a Homeowner or DIY'er to attempt them. Excellent funtionality, gteat resilience in terms of finish and the new coating definatrly helps withthe prevention of water spots. Thick glass makes the heft of the doors feel very high quality. I am a GC and have no installed 6 sets of these doors on tubs & showers and have never come across a missing part or poorly made component. Highly recommend as a cost effective alternative to custom glass where the situation allows.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needs improvements *WRONG TEMPLATE for drilling holes into tile for cross bar! Please take this into consideration. The holes need to be drilled about 3/8 of an inch higher then template ones. I literally had to shim underneath support bracket and was unable to use provided slide in cap. Redrilling holes isn't really an option either because you'd just be compromising strength. *Supplied drill bit is a joke.... don't waste your time even attempting to use it. Just go buy a diamond tipped one *Anchor screws for rail bar are way to short and seem very light for its intended purpose *Instructions are poor Other then that final product does look good

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away unless you installed this before I have installed many shower doors this is by far the worst, not because of quality they are actually nice doors, but the instructions are honestly the worst ive ever seen absolute garbage been doing renos for 30 years and now I need to smash out a perfect tile job because i followed the instructions. Now that I know what went wrong I could correct but trust me a 12 year old made these instructions and drew the pictures......100% disappointed Maxx, im not the only one look at all the poor feedback hire a 16 yr old at least to make instruction booklet

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value and quality- instructions are mediocre Looks good, the hardware moves very smoothly and overall decent quality for the price. However some issues with missing steps in the instructions. Also the instructions are for all models which at times can be confusing. Go to the manufactures websites for additional instructions. I would suggest you'd need to be above average for mechanical and handy-man knowledge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 60" Halo Roller Door These doors are heavy, well made. Instructions are poor, some of the molding was not in the instructions so we had to figure out where they went through trial and error. The support bar for the glass requires double stud on the fixed side and the ability to drill into the centre of a stud on the door open side as the weight of the doors is significant. We had to cut into the wall from an adjacent room to accommodate the double stud. Screws that come with these doors for the support bar are also short when going through tile, so find some longer ones to be safe. Overall the doors are very nice and function well; would recommend professional installation for all but the experienced handy man!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value, best product for its use. I've installed at least five of these in the last number of years. Make sure you lay a moving blanket on shower floor to protect it and the glass. Its a good idea to put backer blocks in when framing to receive screws for rod and solidify the installation. Screws provided for wall brackets are always too short, so expect a visit back to get longer ones. Compared to cost of having my glass company in to measure, fabricate and install a similar set up (they use 10mm glass and offer option of handle/towel holding features for $3000 complete), this unit is great value. As a contractor, this takes me 4 hrs to install and silicone. Follow instructions and slightly oversize the holes in tile for screws, not cranking screws so tight as to crack tile. Also, have left out two of the weather stripping's that detract from visual. I leave behind in case client finds they need it. I also leave out the threshold chrome strip that is to go on threshold to stop water from going outside of shower (I always tilt stone threshold with fall back into shower when laying it).

From what I’ve been reading, I should buy extra drill bits for this installation. What size drill bit should I get? It will be going through porcelain tiles.

Asked by: Fishinthebay
I used a 1/4” diamond tip drill bit to go through tile

Can both these panels slide? Or do you need to choose which is fixed and which slides? I'd like to be able to reach in on the faucet side to turn on, then enter thru other end, so i need both panels to slide if possible.

Asked by: dx32020
Dear dx32020, the Halo door one glass panel is a fixed panel and the other one slides, Maax preferes that the sliding door is installed on the same side as the shower head if possible and you can't have two slidind panels on the Halo door..Thank You!

Is the opening tile to tile 47" or 48"?

Asked by: Vadim
If your shower is 42” the opening will only be 14 1/2” when the doors are installed. I like the doors, but not the tiny opening. Also, they aren’t as whisper quiet as they promise them to be. A sales rep recommended them for our particular shower despite our concerns that the opening would be too small. We put them on and were shocked at how legitimate your concerns were. If you have large people, DO NOT buy these if your shower is 42”. We complained about them but never got a response from the store. So, we’re stuck with a small opening. Hope this helps!

When the item is described as Frameless - what does that mean, no frame on the bottom ?

Asked by: Jawahar
One door is fixed, the moving door is not in a grooved area. I like mine, door opens smoothly and looks good. Only problem is access to clean back of tub is more difficult.
