Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beware of the instructions I love the soft close feature of the door and the 8mm thick glass panels. I dropped the rating due to being a pain of the install. Even though I followed the instructions to a "T", I found that the wall channels mounted on the bottom track as per instructions were a little too low which made the center guide cause too much drag on the glass door. It was hard to close/open doors and the soft close feature useless. I mounted the wall channels about an inch off the bottom track which remedied the issue. My walls were square so I have no idea why it was an issue. Just something to keep in mind when installing. Not fun when you have to drill more holes in porcelain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality Door This Door is superior quality and has some very nice features like soft close doors, and a handle that doubles as a towel rack. The 8mm glass delivers a solid heavy duty feel. We were missing a couple pieces of hardware and Maax customer service was a bit tedious to deal with, but all worked out in the end. Serial number and receipt are required for all warranty or parts claims. The serial number is on the box, and/or on a warranty paper included in the packaging. Be sure to record the serial number or retain the warranty paper. Our door was installed by a contractor who discarded everything, so we had to make several calls and jump through a few hoops to get things looked after. \warranty claims should go smoother with all the required paper work. I would recommend this product based on overall quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from design is dumb Pretty but dumb. The handle to open the door is only on one side. The only way to configure this is to use the handle to open from the inside and the towel rack to open from the outside (or vice versa) and enter and exit thru different sides. Unless there is something I'm missing. Also my towel rack is 24" on centre but the holes in the door are 18" on centre. I am hoping that Home Depot sends me a new towel rack that will fir the door. This is problem is after they delivered a granite counter top that was smashed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking shower door This shower door looks amazing, and was easy to install. The instructions were clear, and easy to follow. Because the glass is thicker than other shower doors I’ve installed, they are a bit heavier, so it is best to have an extra person to help with lifting the doors in place. The best part is the soft door close, which ensures the doors close snugly up to the frame, and therefore are tolerant of DIY installations that that may not be perfectly plumb square. The only thing that I wish this door had was two bar/handles for the doors, instead of just one and a knob.

The gasket for the hangers for the doors came too thick and was imposible to fit. I used three hours to reduce the thickness of the transparent gaskets to fit. Just get some long screws if you want to catch 2x4 stud.For stud,supplied screws not long enough. Work great.Smooth slide.Soft close works Excellent!!!.Not a single drop water comes out even when use jet shower panel.Bottom Track easy to clean.Bought second one already.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality but the instructions could be better. Once installed, the showers door feels of good quality, particularly with the 8mm glass. There are some issues to note: 1) The finish is polished aluminum, not chrome. 2) The protection inserts for rollers and handles should be sized to fit the holes in the glass. 3) Please improve the instructions for drilling the top header. The supplied template says to align to the RHS of the heavy black line, when it needs to be to the LHS - I had to redrill. The template says 1/4" hole, but the written instructions included with the template say 13/63" or 7/32". Finally, the two holes on the template have the center-to-center slightly incorrect. I instead, measured using using the actual hardware, and used a 5/32" drill bit. Site wouldn't permit me to include photos.

They're solid with nice finishing and look more expensive than they actually cost. Love the soft close feature, Keeps my 7 & 8 year old boys from slamming them shut.

Just installed this door myself - but I’ve realized that the back blanks to the towel rod and knob are flush on the opposite side. How am I supposed to close the door when there’s nothing to grip on the inside? Can I get a double sided knob?

Hi Barbara - the little buttons are nearly flush with the glass. You can’t really grip them to open the door against the tension of the soft close mechanism.  The response from Maax is helpful and it works. Just didn’t think about playing switch-a-roo with the doors getting in every time. No biggie.

In the instructions and installation video, they specify to use silicone caulking on the outside of the frame only. Why not use caulking inside? Wouldn’t that prevent water from getting between the walls and the vertical frame?

How does the door adhere at the bottom where it connects to the tub? The current doors run on a track and gets filthy. Want something that is trackless or VERY easy to clean. But it has to be watertight because the floor leaks into the ceiling when wet

To make the bottom plate of the door water tight I had my installer use clear caulking both inside and outside. I have no water issues.

How much out of plumb does it allow? Is it chrome or aluminum?

This model does not really have any adjustments for out-of-plumb walls. There is a small pocket for the doors to close into the jambs and there are some adjustments in the rollers that will help you level the glass, but the unit does not really have any adjustments for out-of-plumb walls.
