Create a sophisticated bathroom space with unparalleled ease and speed. Utile by MAAX is an innovative shower walls solution, available in a range of rich colors, deep textures and stylish patterns that look and feel like tile. Why is Utile superior to tile? Starting with purchase and installation: with tile, several other materials are required and a professional must complete the 3 days installation. Alternatively, Utile walls dont require the purchase of other materials except silicone, and a few tools if not already in hand. They are fixed directly on the studs, in 1 day and do not require hiring an expert! As for the long run: tile is a sturdy material, however grout requires regular care to keep its look and integrity long term. Utile walls, on the other hand, have realistic and carefree faux grout lines that will not crack! This kit includes the Utile tub wall set, New Town bath and Halo door for a hassle free shower solution. Items also available separately for customization.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product but instructions could be better Installed this door over 2 days (to allow time for some of the silicone caulk to cure, as it holds things in place). The instructions were like trying to read the Dead Sea Scrolls, covering installation of 3 different models - all jumbled together. Useful tips: Center the door guide (part no. 4) on the lip of the tub and then use its position to figure out where the fixed panel will be mounted to the wall. Also , steps 5 and 6 should be reversed, since it will be nearly impossible to drill the holes required in step 6 after the fixed panel has been installed in step 5. The installed door works great and looks very classy. If only the manufacturer could make installation easier by providing instructions specifically for the tub model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great quality product but hideous instructions Love the quality but you may as well not look at the instructions. ...they are more confusing than informative. You will need above average skills to properly install this product. It took me 6 hours because I followed the instructions. .would have taken less if I just did it without. Very disappointed that for such an expensive door they used generalized instructions which apply to over the tub..or no tub..or angled..instead of separate instructions for each. Otherwise very nice quality and look.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value and quality- instructions are mediocre Looks good, the hardware moves very smoothly and overall decent quality for the price. However some issues with missing steps in the instructions. Also the instructions are for all models which at times can be confusing. Go to the manufactures websites for additional instructions. I would suggest you'd need to be above average for mechanical and handy-man knowledge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Halo Big Roller Shower & Tub Doors Review Love the Halo Big Roller System. The are pretty easy to install althought I would NOT recommend a Homeowner or DIY'er to attempt them. Excellent funtionality, gteat resilience in terms of finish and the new coating definatrly helps withthe prevention of water spots. Thick glass makes the heft of the doors feel very high quality. I am a GC and have no installed 6 sets of these doors on tubs & showers and have never come across a missing part or poorly made component. Highly recommend as a cost effective alternative to custom glass where the situation allows.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from How can you sell a product without instruction? I bought this door couple of days ago. After waiting for 1 hour to get the product I wanted due to the fact that the door was placed in a higher shelf. The salesperson ignored my ask for half hour until someone licensed to use the lifting cart came by to help me taking the door from the higher shelf. Once it finally happened the lift cart had no battery. Finally I got the product (open box). Arriving home the instruction is useless and after 4 hours installing I found out that the holes had to be placed few inches from where I made the holes. Instructions are useless and you have to get it wrong to then find the solution. Really painful!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Oily overspray on glass doors Just installed Maxx Frameless Sliding Tub Door in Chrome. Clear glass panels are a huge disappointment. Lotus coating which is suppose to bead water is impossible to clean. We haven't even used the shower yet.. The glass doors are covered in a oily over spray, and look horrendous! We have called a technician at MAAX and were told that this has been a problem. But, also said that continual cleaning for months with vinegar and water probably will take it off. This is my brand new bathroom. My doors are suppose to look sparkly brand new. Not completely covered in oil. 4x cleaning still looks the same. Do not buy these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok but wish it was deeper. This tub is nice and modern but I was expecting the tub to be deeper, more like the tub we had removed, but it is a good 3 inches above the floor when the last tub was 1 inch so we lost 2 inches of soaking depth. Unfortunately there is no measurement available stating the depth of the tub nor the distance it is off the ground so you are left with whatever you buy online site unseen. It’s fine but wanted a tub that was deeper.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful. Rough-in not perfect? not easy as video Looks beautiful, the video makes it look easy. The person in the video has a newly installed rough in that I'm sure is perfect. If you are retrofitting, this is unforgiving which is disappointing since it's ideal for retrofit in theory. Better get perfectly square and level. You need over 3 inch to drop the wall in. Thats getting into trim problems. And of course none of the previous plumbing will fit lol (not the fault of this product). As with the rest of the reviews, instructions for the door are absolutely terrible to the point of useless (tub and wall instructions are pretty good.)

will this door fit a standard bathtub which is 60"?

Asked by: Ted93
Yes. The doors have an allowable tolerance of about 1.75 inches. I believe the shower can be anywhere from 58 1/4 to 59 1/2" or something very similar. The exact tolerance is highlighted in the installation manual which can downloaded in pdf form. I have installed about 6 sets of these doors though and all have worked perfectly on standard 60" tub and shower openings.

How does the door adhere at the bottom where it connects to the tub? The current doors run on a track and gets filthy. Want something that is trackless or VERY easy to clean. But it has to be watertight because the floor leaks into the ceiling when wet

Asked by: DesignAndTrinket
Dear DesignAndTrinkt, this door has no main bottom track but a center glide where the door panel slides, it's sort of semi trackless, there is a small metal piece that runs from the center guide to the wall where the sliding door portion is and keeps water in and there is a seal at the bottom of the door..Regards!

I am thinking about buying the Maax newtown tub. Can the Utile tub surround be used with this. The tub is almost 32 in and surround is 30 in. Please respond.

Asked by: Margaret
That's exactly what I was going to do but it looked funny with the tub sticking out further so I sent the surround back and ended up tiling. Ended up about the same $$ and looked way better

How thick is the track? my bathtub rib is only 2 inches in the center so I need a small track.

Asked by: steph07
There is no track on the bottom. The Fixed panel is siliconed to the tub, and the sliding panel hangs on the upper rail and slides through a small guide attached to the bottom of the fixed panel
