Overview

Model # DC18RC Store SKU # 1000662411

At the heart of Makita 18V LXT Series is the efficient Rapid Optimum Charger. The Rapid Optimum Charger offers key advantages for Makita 18V lithium-ion cordless tool users. The exclusive built-in fan cools the battery (sold separately) by forcing air through the battery's air vents during the charging process for faster charging. The charger communicates with the battery's built-in chip throughout the charging process to optimize battery life by actively controlling current, voltage and temperature. The result is category-leading battery charge times, which means the battery spends more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

I would like to know if the battery charging on the charger starts buzzing a lot?
Asked by: Gerbpiv
I wouldn't say "buzzing"...the internal fans do kick on and you'll hear that sound the entire time the battery is charging. Once the battery is fully charged, the fan (and thus noise) turns off.

Does anybody know the amps drawn by the charger (at peak)? Thinking about setting up a simple solar system to charge batteries at a remote location (as opposed to running a generator all day). Thanks!

Asked by: Steve
Hello, there is a fan and circuit board in the charger, it is recommended 500W (approx 4 amps) for best use.

Can anyone explain how to read the display on the charger? I know what the icons mean but do they light up or what. I only see two bulbs a red and green one. They are both on at the same time. Seems strange.
Asked by: larrydonline
It's the same thing . When I put the battery in, the red and green lights appear, then the red light disappears and only the green remains and no other lights appear to glow
