Rated 5 out of 5 by from Been working gteat for years. I've had this product many years and it hasn't gave me any problems. I had flat tires and couldn't find a service station with a working compressor during this cold spell. I dug out mine from the garage to warm up and quickly pumped up my tires. Obviously it is used for real work but most appreciate today.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quit after 10 uses Bought this compressor June 2019 and used about 10 times and the pump went. Makita said cheaper to buy a new one then repair. My compressor looks like the day I brought it home and it's never been abused. Very poor quality to quit after just a few uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome and convenient compressor. What an amazing compressor. Replacing my 20 gallon husky with this unit as will be good in my shop as well as on job sites. Highly recommended it. Little things make it wonderful. The area to wrap up air hose will hold the hose even when you fold down the handle. And the storage area is perfect for small attachments like a blower and a tire gauge/filler.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Turned me off all things Makita Worked until one of the plates slipped. The unit is designed to be thrown away when that happens. So, if you want it for a couple of months and are OK with getting Ryobi quality at Makita prices, fill yer boots

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makita Air Compressor In cooler temperatures (in garage) it will not run at first, until the oil warms up. (My garage breaker trips) Otherwise great product and live the lower noise and volume of air..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy, nice unit. Works great and not super noisy. Very easy to move around and the hose hooks are nice for keeping things tidy. I use it mostly with my air nailer and it keeps up really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the investment. Easy to set up and use, and builds air fast. Had to buy the fittings though.

What is the minimum gas generator I need to run this product? I calculated 120v x 13.8 amp = 1656 run 4968 start up? So a generator that’s 5000 watt or can I get the 4450w start  3500w running. Any help please? Thanks

Asked by: Jason
It is my experience that you will require a generator that can easily provide greater than the maximum startup draw, providing the bare minimum is not advised.  Any generator wattage less than that recommended above will result in the compressor motor not circulating and overtime causing severe damage to the windings and other electrical components.  It is recommended that a large generator be used, pay close attention to the outdoor temperature in relation to the pumps lubricating oil used as this will make the compressor harder to turn over in the colder months if used outdoors. I do not recommend this product for framing related projects, I believe the warranty available supports this opinion.
