Rated 5 out of 5 by from LISTEN UP PEOPLE. This stapler does not come setup for sequential shooting (1 shot per pull) but, it can do so no problem. Looking for sequential firing solely. Then you need to purchase the "Accessory Sequential Trigger". (Sold separately but not at HD.) That being said. It's possible to shoot one staple at a time just the way it is. It's a great stapler light weight, powerful enough, adjustable exhaust and, a solid built in Allen wrench holder. Depth adjustment works fine too. The trouble people seem to have with double taps is due to 2 things. 1) Not releasing the trigger once it fires. 2) Not holding firmly enough against what they're stapling. Suppose low air pressure could have the same affect. Not saying you need to put your weight into it but, the contact element doesn't have to come up/off very far AT ALL (like 2-3mm) for it to be ready to fire again. Hit a knot or bounce at all and you'll get another staple. Hopefully knowing this can save someone some frustration. Plan on using this for sheeting etc. and continuous firing is what you need out of the box you're good. Living in a small town then yes staples are limited to buying 10k at a time and 1.75" and 1.5" will probably be your only options. Seems like a lot of thing are in a short supply right now. At the risk of being redundant. YOU'LL NEED TO PURCHASE THE ACCESSORY SEQUENTIAL TRIGGER if that's how you want it to solely work but, NOT ABSOLUTELY NESSACARY THOUGH. As long as you're aware of the mechanics you'll be fine. If you need exact precision get a narrow crown stapler. I've been a carpenter for over 25 years so, I like to think I know what I'm talking about.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not so good There was NO Allen key included to adjust the depth.. Talk about cheap. Shoots multiple staples the you only want one. Yes I held the trigger and then pushed the gun down as the instructions say. Some are set high some are low they are all over the place. You have to go around with a hammer and tidy up the mess it leaves. Tried adjusting the depth but does not seam to help. Probably why there is no allen key included. On the good side it has not jammed yet running 50 staples through it. Probably going to send back. Such a shame the engineers did not take the time to test their product before it hit the market. Called Makita they are just useless.

I don’t do reviews but when I read reviews I don’t see too many tradesmen commenting or giving a review...I am a master carpenter 30 years..this tool is excellent . I have learned over the years that most tools are good and what the problems are usually operator error LOL

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job well. After a box of 3000 staples and 20% of my project done, I'm happy with my purchase. I don't know what a pro would think or how it would fare after years of use and millions of staples but it seems well built and does the job well for me, a DIYer. I don't like the system to adjust the driving depth of the staples which requires an hexagonal key, but once it's ajusted, you don't need to touch it anymore.

The staple slide is smooth as butter. Used it to re-build 30 feet of cedar fence. Only reason for 4 stars is that the stapler wants to rapid fire much of the time, and I can't figure out the magic to reliably fire one staple. I would guess that about 25% of the time, it would drive 2 or 3 staples when I only wanted one. Probably user error. I am quite happy with it, and just wish I had more fence to build.
