Rated 3 out of 5 by from radio I think the sounds is great but it doesn't charge your batteries. Come on Makita stop charging the same price as other radios but cheeping out on a charger. I only use Makita tools but was disappointed when I had to charges batteries separately on the job site to listen to music. Extremely difficult when the house has no power right now so I have to choose between tools and radio. It also doesn't save my radio stations , I pretty much have to reset them every time i turn it on. Besides that its a great radio. Its taking a beating and gone through lots of dust and some light rain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Radio I Ever Owned I've owned a lot of portable radios in my life and this one is by far my favorite one! I live outside of Edmonton (Stony Plain Area) and this thing picks up all the Edmonton Stations Plus on clear days it sometimes will pick up red deer which is 1:40 min away from us. By Far the best radio for reception and the AM Radio works great on it as well, I bought Portable batteries for this on Amazon and I get up to 35 hours without needing a charge!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Product! I bought this radio a few weeks ago and it has stellar performance and wonderful sound. The controls are simple and intuitive and it accepts all of my Makita 18V batteries. Not to put too fine a point on it, this is the best radio I have come across in 30 years. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sturdy product The only thing that dissapointed me with buying this product was that it didn't come with a battery. I can't take it anywhere that doesn't have a power source. When I lived in Ontario I had one of theses radios but when I purchased it there it came with a battery and I was able to take it to the beach, outside gatherings etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good radio but has it's faults Got this radio sounds and looks great, has the 2 aux inputs which is a bonus. BUT and this is huge, it does not charge your batteries even if you have the adapter plugged in. Come on Makita, Milwaukee's radio charges there batteries, even the Dewalt radio charges its batteries...tsk tsk... and the ac adapter im gonna lose it should be an integral part of the unit, not seperate. But hey I like it anyways.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound from a small radio. Co-worker thought there was too much base, now he begs to have this radio on our job sites. The only down fall for this radio is that there is now charger for charging batteries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needs BASS Adjust Used outside every weekend with custom lead acid 12V battery. Overall a good product. EXCEPT: 1. Too much BASS, you CANNOT adjust the BASS. 2. Hinge and latch design is awful. Not enough material around the hinge area. 3. The AC power converter should have been built into the radio.

Where can one obtain a 12 V dc supply for this radio ? The manual suggested that it is supplied - but there isn't one sold with the radio.

I have several 12V DC power supplies but the connection for the BMR100 radio seems to be a bit larger than usual for the plugs on my supplies. Any suggestion as to where I can get the appropriate 12 V DC power supply [i.e. transformer]?

No, there is no built in charger with this radio. The 120v ac is only to power the radio, NOT charge batteries.
