Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good door, but watch out One reviewer complained that the door was not square. This is by design, and I'm happy it's got that tapered edge. So make sure you put your hinges on the correct side. What my issue is with the door is the panel design may not align the same on both sides. Let's say you drill your door handle exactly in the space between the bottom and middle panels. Look on the other side of the door and you may find that it's not in the middle but like an inch off. One door I bought had the panels on the one side shifted almost one inch down from the other side. So, everytime I get one of these doors, I have to inspect each one before I buy. This may mean discarding 2 or 3 before picking the right door without the issue.

To the reviewers complaining that this isn’t “soundproof” of course it isn’t, and neither is the rest of your room probably. You need to set your expectations and make them realistic. This is a less than 200 dollar door. It will help with sound reduction greatly, but of course it won’t deaden it completely, buy a 1000 dollar door for that. Also, if your house was built with crappy hollow core doors, your walls probably have crappy, or nonexistent insulation. Work on that for sound deafening.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rough opening specification The specifications of this door call for a rough opening of 30.5x80. This is completely wrong. You need to allow for 1/8" gap on either side plus the thickness of your jamb material times 2 plus 1/4" to 1/2" allowance for shimming on either side. Example: 30" door + (1/8"×2) + (5/8"×2) + 3/4" shimming = 32-1/4" rough opening. That is for the width. The height needs to be the door plus 1/8" gap on top plus 1/4" to 1/2" gap on the bottom plus the jamb thickness plus 1/4". Therefore, 80+1/8+1/2+5/8 jamb+1/4=81.5. I hope this helps some less experienced do-it-yourselfers.

But when installed correctly with the hinge pin to the 30" side of the door, they work just fine, with no chance of the door hitting the jam on the hinge side when closed! If your having trouble like the the previous reviewer, just mortise the hinge to the other side of the door! Don't shave it down!

I like that it comes as one piece. Easy to paint and will last for years. Highly recommend for barn door projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement door I don’t know why you would pay an extra $50 for the same door with a pre-drilled hole, so this was much better and I just drilled the holes myself. I was replacing some very over-painted doors that wouldn’t shut properly anymore. The doors themselves are easy to work with when it comes to shaving them down to fit or chiseling the sides for hinges.

Can this door be custom ordered to replace our old one perfectly? I have the specifications and in order for this door to work there would need to be some trimming.

I purchased 4 of these doors for my upstairs. Three of the 4 installed perfectly. The 4th door had to be trimmed. There were no issues with doing that. The door fits nicely now.
