Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Door I bought this door to replace a really old interior door, and it's definitely worth what you pay for it. I needed a 30''x78'' door and it was easy to trim the top and bottom and cut holes for the lock set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality for the price. Very good quality door perfectly sized. One small problem which was my fault, is that I did not notice there is no hole for the door knob pre-cut you have to do that yourself, totally my fault for not noticing. You will need a hole saw to install this door yourself. :P

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and blocks noise. Great quality for such a simple door. We stained it and it looks great - also really damps the noise from other rooms

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs lots of sanding! I bought these as paint ready doors. They were anything but! Every edge around the panels needed to have the edges carefully sanded to remove the router leftovers without rounding the edges.. Even though I did what I thought was a good job many areas still needed attention. I sprayed the doors to get a smooth finish and had many areas where the grain was raised by the paint. And some stringers from the router still remained. Very disappointed! Only buy this if you are prepared to spend a lot of time to prep well before painting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inferer product I boughttwo of these doors. 1 was installed as a pocket door and te other is on hinges. Initally I was very happy with them but both are now giving me problems. The pocket door is clearly warping as it now bangs on somethin in the pocket, when it is being opened or closed. The other, the wood has shrunk to the point that we can see through the gaps in the wood. Both are now huge problems

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Door! Very heavy and solid door! Love everything about it except for current price. The same door we bought the year previous was $100 cheaper.

I would like to stain this door. My stain recommends sanding to 150, 180 then 220 grit. Does this door come with mill glaze or is it pre-sanded to a certain level?

Asked by: JeanPhilippe
I use a pressing conditioner before stain to deal with the glazing that the heat from milking the wood causes. You can buff it as well with the sand paper 180 or 220 grit but go with the wood grain only.  Stain it the number of costs you need to get the depth of colour you like. Sand it lightly between coats when it dry to touch.  And finish with your satin, semi-gloss, or gloss polyurethane finish or spray on Lacquer if you are spraying.

I plan to use this as a door to a cold storage room in a basement. Will this door keep the cold in the cold room, and out of my basement?

Asked by: Cory
Given the problems with humidity and condensation, I would recommend using an insulated external door on a basement cold storage room. A solid wood/pine door would need a water-proof/ moisture-proof finish and still may not function well in such a setting.

Is this door solid? The associate told me it is but it says solid core with veneer. I need to cut off 2 inches and if it’s hollow around the outside that won’t work.

Asked by: Chevy63
these doors are solid there will be no problem reducing the length but i would reduce 1 inch off each end

do these need to be sanded before staining ? have they already been stained thanks

Asked by: Mike2175
They are not stained. A light sanding does help to ensure a consistent finish although is not absolutely required

I need to cut 5" off the height (2.5" from top and bottom) so that it fits in the basement. Thoughts on whether this will be a big mistake??

Asked by: Basement dweller
Hello Basement dweller, the trim allowance on this door is 1 inch from the bottom and 1/4" from each side.
