Is this food grade plastic? Some plastics let off chemicals that is absorb by the plant. Then you eat the plant.

All of our products are rotationally molded using linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE). Our planters are BPA free and are safe to plant edibles in!

what are the dimensions of the strapping boards recommended for mounting the 5ft window boxes over siding .......

For installation to siding, we recommend using plywood strapping (1”x4” plywood is suitable) in order to add strength and support. Attach the board to the siding where you would like your Window Box to sit than attach the brackets. After the brackets are secure slide your new Window Box into place.

Can this be used as regular planter on the ground like the 36x20 boxes?

I already have 3 of the 36x20 planters and I would like this just directly below a window but not as a hanging box.

The window boxes also have small "feet" on the base of the window box that prevent the overflow drainage from being blocked when used on the ground. However, the Nantucket has a rounded front, and a flat back so you would want it to be up against a wall.

Is it possible to mount the 60" window box to siding without using the black brackets that are included? I only plan on using a foam base and artificial flowers in my window box.
