Gas gives you much better control, so that it is much harder to burn what your cooking. The double oven has completely spoiled me. It makes such a difference when you need to bake at multiple temperatures at the same time. Convection baking is new to me, and I believe I will never buy anything but. This is one of multiple Maytag purchases in the past month, and I have never been happier.

Also, the stainless steel is STAINED, the color changed with the heat on one side and I have tried to clean it following directions of manufacturer without much change.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Canadian Purchase I love this stove and oven. I was hopeful that the review I read about this was wrong. But it was not. As this is manufactured in America it is made for American natural gas configuration. In Canada the standards are different. When the stove is installed there is no way that this stove will be able to be pushed back to the wall. The stove will be out approximately 5 cm past the counter. I did decide to live with it as COVID had taken me 5 months to get a stove.

The locking grates are annoying when trying to clean stove top. I liked the small round burner in the center on my old stove much better. I don't know if I will ever use the center burner on this stove.

Can this be ordered for propane?

Hi Darren, Thank you so much for your question! Maytag Oven Model MGT8800FZ cannot be ordered as a Propane unit, but it does come with a conversion kit that can be installed to switch it from Gas to Propane. I hope this helps! Regards - Whirlpool Central Advisors
