Rated 4 out of 5 by from Maytag Gemini Electric Stove Prior to purchasing this stove we had owned a Gemini double oven stove for 14 years. When the time came to replace it, we went looking for the same features in the same model. The upper oven in the new stove is larger and although it’s still early to compare the performance and function of the convection style baking, early reviews are positive. Baking is even and perhaps faster. The glass cooktop is difficult to keep clean, but so was the old one. The stove should come with a razor scraper and cooktop cleaning instructions. Overall we aren’t disappointed with the new version of our trustworthy old friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly happy with my purchase I'm mostly happy with my new stove but there are a couple things that I don't like about it. The ceramic top is hard to keep clean, much harder than my previous stoves top. It streaks really easily and any spill or boil over leave hard to remove marks. The top oven gets really really hot so either cook for less time or reduce temperature by few degrees depending on your recipe. The bottom door also hits the ground when you open it so be careful as to not damage your floor with the handle. I do love the fact that I can cook 2 diffrent things at 2 different temperatures which is the main reason I bought the stove, the above mentioned complaints are just things I find a bit frustrating but can live with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ever (This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We bought this stove several months ago, and it has been a dream come true. The bridge elements are amazing, and the double ovens are just what we needed. I can finally have both ovens on at the same time at different temperatures without affecting scorching the food in the top one, which happened with another brand we owned before this one. It has answered all our cooking needs and then some. The knob dials rather than push buttons for the burners is wonderful. On top of all that, there is the ease of cleaning with self-cleaning ovens. We absolutely LOVE it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it. I love the dual oven feature and the cook time that shuts everything off when the time is up and the lights that come on when you open the doors. The touch pad is a bit frustrating as you can't put in a time or temp, you have to repeatedly touch the + or - to get to temp/time. Holding the button down takes forever to get it scrolling up. Also, the cook time starts by hitting START, the timer starts by hitting TIMER again - takes a while to get it all straight. Spilled liquids do bake onto the burner surface quickly - cleaning will be a constant task but I love it and it far outshines my old stove!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice double oven, HORRIBLE glass top I've waited 60 days to post a review. Cons: - glass top nearly impossible to keep clean - scratches VERY easily. I thought it was cracked in 4 places. Deep scratches. I am using the same cookware as I used on an older glass top for 12 years. The old top never scratched. It looks awful. - Cannot fit a standard baking sheet in lengthwise. It's 1" too shallow. - Difficult to push oven right up to wall due to closed cavity in plug area - no numeric keypad, so setting time and oven temperature requires A LOT of clicks Pros: - nice looking oven (except dirty and scratched top) - quiet - bakes well - accurate temperature - double ovens still spacious - hidden 'middle' oven element interesting... I intend to return this before the 90 days. The glass top is the deal-breaker. As I've read, replacements for this issue scratch just as easily, as one would expect.

This is my second purchase as I’ve sold my home and the first thing on my purchases for my new home was the Maytag double oven range…you have 2 ovens In one…you use the smaller one to reheat or to cook pizza or any other one dish …when you have company you can cook or bake at the same time n when meal is ready it all goes in to stay warm n did I forget to say it’s a convection that’s a wow itself….super pleased !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of garbage Bought Maytag, used to have a good name. Sticker says Made in America. Repairman says inside, parts Made in China. Oven controls didn't last. New controls almost $300 with only a 90 day guarantee. I wouldn't wish the stove on anyone. All it has done is cause frustration.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible stove!! We had this oven less than two weeks and the glass stove top cracked. The service to have it repaired was excellent but the second top scratches easily!! We've had two other glass tops that were great, never a scratch in them. The top oven also vents from the side of the door as well as the front. It can't be up against the counter because it get soaking wet from steam! I would not recommend this stove!!

Is the depth actually 28.5 inches, my current stove is 26 inches. If so, this stove would protrude 2.5inches?

Asked by: Joyce
Hi Joyce, That's a good question! The cutout depth for Model YMET8800FZ is 60.96 cm, 24.0 in and the actual depth is 72.39 cm, 28-1/2 in. If I want to use the timer on the stove .. how do I put the timer on for 40 minutes ... it seems i have to press the "+" button 40 times to advance the timer to go off in 40 minutes. Is there an easier way to do this?

Asked by: Catrina
Hi Catrina, please refer to the use and care guide on page 13 that is located on the Use and Care guide available on the Home Depot Website on how to set the timer: Set a Timed Cook: 1. Press and the keypad for any cooking function except Self-Clean or Keep Warm. 2. Press and/or hold the Time/Temp “+” or “-” keypad to set the desired temperature. Press and hold to scroll quickly. The temperature will not scroll past the minimum or maximum allowable temperature. 3. Press COOK TIME. 4. Press the Time/Temp “+” or “-” keypad to enter the length of time to cook. 5. Press START. Thank you, Whirlpool Central Advisors.

Does anyone wish there were larger burners? I am interested in purchasing this product however I am concerned about only having one large burner

Asked by: sonia
There are four burners on the stovetop that you can control separately, the two left burners can be combined for use as “one” larger burner (total size almost 1/3 of the stovetop). Also there is a warming area in the top middle. Hope that helps.

Is the height of the cooktop adjustable at all? I'd like to lower it slightly to match our counters

Asked by: MELA
It does have levelling feet, but I don't think there is the ability to appreciably lower the height.
