These tiles are so pretty, classic but the bumpy texture and mid matte finish keep it organic and transitional. We did white on the backsplash and black on the island for a perfect tuxedo look! (Photo makes the black look navy, its not. It’s a very dark gray which looks black to the eye without being too striking)

Rated 5 out of 5 by LeighV from Just what I was looking for These tiles are an affordable reproduction of a hand-cut, glazed terracotta tile that costs $27/ sq ft (on the low end) via independent retailers. The random crackling in the glaze is a part of its patina, and it will take on more of that character over time. We're pairing it with honed carrara, and they should wear well together. This is a machined product; which makes it easier for DIY install. But it's also an intentionally imperfect tile, that creates a unique, high-end look.

Not only are theset tiles ridiculously expensive, about a third of the tiles I received have hairline cracks in them. It's as though they were cracked during the firing process. If I had been around when my contractor was installing them, I would have sent them all back and got another type of tile. The good ones look great, but the overall effect is awful. You can get much better tiles elsewhere for much less. Do that.
