These tiles feature an eye-drop effect reactive glaze, creating variably blue tones in the center mixed with grey shades on the edge. Rated 5 out of 5 by from A reliable tile choice. There is no noticeable colour variation between tiles/boxes, and no loose bits in the box. The pattern is predictably irregular, meaning there are a few tiles that a consistent pattern would dictate be cookies that are instead cream, and that is the same across all tiles. This stops the tile from being boring in a larger presentation. Easily trimmed with tile snips. Slightly more consumptive of grout (chose unsanded linen, similar to the cream pennies, to make the cookie pennies pop). The final product is as much about visual texture as colour. Application: backsplash in a light camel-coloured (cream) kitchen against grey (cookie) cabinets.

Building my dream kitchen, I decided to go for it and it added all the texture I wanted. Elegant but not boring. Consistent and great quality, my tile installer agreed. Worth it.

Hey Janice, Our Hudson Penny Round Grey Eye has varying grey tones with slight beige tones around the edges. Computer monitors tend to portray colors either too warm or too cool in terms of tone. This makes judging whether the tile will suit your needs a bit more difficult. In situations like this, we would recommend ordering a sample of our Hudson Penny Round Grey Eye from the Home Depot https://thd.co/2n5EtaZ! This comes on a 3”x4” sample card which offers a color and texture sample, not a look at the whole pattern. To be able to see the whole tile, we recommend ordering one sheet. Please note that variation in color, shade and texture are inherent characteristics of glazed tile. The pattern, shape, dye lot (color) and size of the actual tile received may vary. We just received our Hudson Penny Round Brownstone tiles today (not installed yet).  We love them even though they are a touch cooler in colour than our monitor shows. Can anyone suggest a pencil tile that will work well with it (forgot about that)?
