We bought this particular safe because of the size as well as the feature of the top separate safe with drop box lower safe. We received item promptly and it was just as expected. The reason I gave 3 starts is because the day we installed the safe, the top latch was broken completely off when the latching bar fell down while the safe was open and unlocked. We didn't notice the bar had fallen down (as it would be when in the locked position) and as the door closed it broke the latching bar completely off. For a safe, I would think it should take a bit or force for such a mechanism to be broken completely off! After some phone tag with the company (Mesa safe) they sent a replacement piece (free of charge) but now you have to shimmy and wiggle the lock each time you need to open it. Disappointing!

The upper storage space could be a little bigger as we use it for a cash box and hard to maneuver but that is our issue not manufacturing.
